Anyone else using iM1 and genome? I'm liking it!

Very stable with 8 sounds in iM1 assigned to each genome track.

  • Sounds fun (there goes your Sunday)!

I did try, and liked the immediacy of it just working. But adding audio - in my case using Loopy, and I couldn't get Genome (or Pro Midi) to stay in sync.

  • You can play 8 sounds at once with iM1? That makes me more interested in it :)

You can play 8 programs at once (Multi mode), or play one sound made of 8 programs (Combi mode).

That's great, I wish more iOS synths were multitimbral like that. I'm not overly keen on the type of sounds the iM1 produces from the demos but I'm sure one could tweak and distort with a bit of work.

  • i was very excited when it occurred to me to use this app combination.

Also through Gadget you load multiple iM1s and get really crazy. I've got a project with 8 M1s all on their own channels in the mixer. It's my favorite synth now.

  • So each program can receive a separate midi channel 1-8?

  • In Multi mode, yes
