Bismark b16 and Genome

I can't get any sound out of B16...just bought the b16 and besides some random burst of noise, there is no midi coming into b16.
Midi is activated in Genome, but I can't play notes in b16 through Genome either (like on video or other synth)
Frustrating...is it the update of b16? Any other synth works fine...

It's working fine on my iPad 8.3 with latest versions of genome and b16
Have you turned the background options on in both apps?

Air2 with 8.3, new version of Bs16 not working for me either. I've tried with Genome, ChordPolyPad and Pro MIDI. The apps can see Bs16 and midi is configured on both ends but there is no sound. I use Bs 16 all the time and usually it's one of easiest apps to use with midi but after wasting hours last night trying it still won't make any sound. I reinstalled bs16 and have hard restarted my iPad several times
I've just noticed it's half price right now...tempted to buy it but hope this issue is resolved quickly.
What iOS are you on? Apparently the recent update is broke on iOS 7?

I'm on iPad Air 2 with iOS 8.3. The weird thing is ChordPolyPad works with BS16 on my iPhone 6 with 8.3 so maybe some of the issue is the A8x chip but that doesn't explain what's going on with iOS 7. I've heard some people are having issues and others are not so who knows.
I'm sure it will be sorted out. It's a great app especially on sale.
This is exactly my scenario, midi Sequencer, proMidi and Genome get no sound ...occasional burst of unrelated sound that is not even mapped in any channels...there is even a video of Genome and B16...

For me it was the search for the perfect sounding French Horn, but for most, I think it's just another bullet in the iOS sample chamber. With the right soundfont, sometimes it's silver.

Hafta say too that the deeper horns in iM1 can be made to sound, erm, pleasantly horny, also. Quite good.
Bs16 saves instrument settings. Sound canvas unless someone knows better you have to reset them each time or bake them into the midi file.
No small thing, I grant you.
Try this in genome.
Make sure the external clock is set to off. ( unless of course you are also synching it to something like midibus)

I can confirm the issues. I have an Air2 and an iPad mini retina both on 8.3. Midi works on the mini but not on Air2 so must be chip related I suppose.
Well it works on my air2 .......
Strange, ok so I can get it to work quite well with TC-data on the Air2 . It's started working with Genome now too after fiddling around ages with the settings (but this seemed to be a coincidence when it started working). Then stopped.... but now it's working again.
So fingers crossed it was just checking in and getting itself comfortable....
perhaps it was stage fright...
I finally got Bs-16 working at different times with ChordPolyPad, ProMidi and Genome but it's very quirky. I ended up deleting Bs-16 again and doing several hard restarts in a row and then went into the midi configure settings of the apps and tried everything. Even when I get it working it's very easy to lose the midi connection if I switch to use midi with a different app and then try to go back to a previously used app and it won't connect. I definitely think this is related to the recent update because Bs-16 has always been a very easy app to connect to via MIdi before now.
Hopefully the developer will fix this so it can go back to being as easy to use as it was before.
Tried it with Cubasis on an Air 2. Through IAA I can get it to play 1 channel. All other attempts using core MIDI failed including using MIDI flow. If it's not multitimbral it has very limited use for me.
It is multitimbal but you have to go and pick which instruments you want on each midi channel. I think piano is loaded by default on each channel.
There is something funky going on with the midi in this version. Before now it's always been easier and much more reliable midi wise. Hopefully the developer is looking into it.
No I've run multiple sounds before the update. I even tried loading scenes that used to work with it before. I can't get it to respond to core MIDI. Only one instrument through IAA.
Yeah there is definitely some funky Midi stuff going on in this update. I wonder if it has to do with the midi sysex stuff the developer added to this version?
It's weird because some sequencers work with MIDI. I got all 4 channels of Auxy to work but nothing out of Beatmaster 2 or Cubasis. I tried sending to the MIDI to the bs-16i, Network Session 1, and even used MIDI flow to create a virtual port. The bs-1 detected the virtual port but no luck.
