Here is nice one again! I wish Waldorf make it to app store! Largo synth!
and look how Anthony shows you Eurotrance!
I thought he was the janitor at Waldorf! I daren't ask again. But, before the end of this week he said.
Gadget is a blessing for anyone who wants to do pure electronic dance orientated music of any genre...one just has to put the hours and get into the flow...
I wish every Gadget had that mod matrix that the Wolfsburg has.
Ya! I pay my respect to Gadget. It has quality sound. But the following youtube video explaining why I said Gadget can not trance well. Hope you guys enjoy learning what the "Trance making" is about. You needs a proper tools to manipulate and Hope you understand how to create the tones. It is not about the synths, it is about productions. So Korg people should has open mindset; don't play little small world games, and should letting musicians has a proper functions globally within Gadget acting as a DAW!
I think Wolfsburg is becoming my favourite gadget you know..Brussels was but...
I dunno..I've heard a lot of the pop generic trance u speak about on the gadget cloud, good stuff but I can't give u links as I don't follow the genre or artists.
My opinion is that nothing is impossible on ios,we have quality apps ( not just gadget) that are fully able to do anything u need for proper dance music.
It's just about finding ways to do it and turning apparent limitations into advantages and using unorthodox methods to achieve the orthodox
This thread just proves what a versatile tool Gadget is. My background is as a player and writer first, then arranger...production is newer to me. I have Logic on a Mac and invested in some samples, but spend far more time on the iPad. Gadget is by far my favourite app as it doesn't get in the way of the creative process. If I could get it to sync properly with Cubasis (it starts and stops with it, but always returns to the beginning instead of following the Cubasis transport position) I'd be in sonic heaven. The updates have brought solid improvements. Of the music companies, Korg is the only one that has developed something solely for iPad musicians and committed to improving and expanding it. That gets my attention
I guess I would be interested in "Trance Making" if it was 1997.
"Trance making" ........................LULZ
ALSO, NO ONE here said Gadget was acting as a DAW.
You gave me a good laugh. Thanks.
@Kaikoo
It's okay! Relaxing and be happy!
+1
Well, I am going to report; You are a missing population. Dr Googear! I know you will join me for conversation. That means I improve my English as a secondary language! I learned lots poem you wrote. I thought what the heck such ancient person exist today! You talk like a alien language to me. Ya, british folk!
I think Gadget is powerful enough to almost justify the price of an iPad in order to run it. For portable, great sounding loops-based production (usually), there's really little that does as good a job at giving you so much power in a fairly simple GUI. I don't have all the M1 extras and such myself, but I'd happily keep Gadget as my only iOS music making app if I was forced to choose
Gadget's worth the money even if only to avoid having to load everything up into Audiobus, and then scale the dreaded 'input matrix' in Auria, just to find you have to load everything up again because there's no sound coming out. And whatever you do don't swap an effect in the chain or your iPad will turn into a giant fist and punch you right in the face.
Gadget's self-contained playground of joy saves me endless hours of compatibility disappointment, a rare and lovely thing these days.
This is perhaps the nicest message I have received on this webhole. I really only understand about 40% of it, but am coming to the conclusion that perhaps this level of cognition is what I should have been looking for in marriage. Anything that disguises the mundane as mysterious is a plus I think
I also like the idea of moving to Taipei and starting English conversation classes. Always good to have another (imaginary) iron in the fire...
Haha, you made me think of an alien called J-Rod who help US military in the early days. Then we have the first transistor ever created. Today, We have a iPad device that billions of transistors at works that we can understand more of each others. Million thanks to J-Rod for these extraterrestrial technology transferred to homo sapiens as we are being called, Therefore we can play music apps together in here to know we are actually brothers, not aliens.
I like and endorse your sentiment brother...
We need like..."like" buttons on this here forum STAT! My god, what good is a forum in this day and age if you can't "like" anything?
Agree Chris..
Have just bought Module, it has transformed my lacklustre tracks immediately - good value Korgsters !
On a more related note, having been working on some tracks for a while now, another realisation I've had is the lack of arrangement 'tools' - I'm finding it hard going keeping track of where in a track different scenesare etc. This isn't a moan by the way, I used early version of Fruity Loops (as it was then) which were equally cryptic and managed okay.
Are you planning to get the Ivory?
@Igneous1 said:
I'm not sure on that one, people who have that will know more about the differences between it and the 'Salzburg' piano. I'm more tempted to get the 'Wurly' actually.
Word.
Once again I have to thank everybody for their input in this thread. If I had any doubt left about entering the Korg ecosystem it's now gone. I'm going to get Gadget and its IAPs as well as M1 and it's IAPs. I'll probably wait until Module is on sale again before considering it.
And hey between Gadget and the new "PIP" feature in iOS 9 I guess I'll now be able to make an entire song and watch my favorite YouTube cat videos all without any app switching!
I'm not currently a Gadgeteer, but I am considering buying it since it seems to be the easiest way to sequence the iM1 (and Module which I also own and like).
The biggest problem I see though is interoperability with other apps, starting a track in gadget and finishing in Auria seems easy enough, but the other way around looks to be more problematic: if I start a track with an 8 bar guitar phrase, is there any easy way to then supplement that with Gadget?
@richardyot play both apps at the same time - assuming you can run them together with a crash.
In no way ideal.
Or chop you 8 bar guitar phrase into 4 x 2 bars and load into Bilbao in Gadget - then do everything in Gadget.
Yeah, those options suck! :P
I'll probably still buy it though
Copy your 8 bar loop to Loopy and sync that and Gadget together. I've been doing that a lot recently with no issues.
It's as though no one wants to seize the brass ring. Gadget has so much going for it, but of course it loses the fluidity that audio could give it. I wonder if they regret ever putting that in their 'road map'. It is a great Meccano set however....@richardyot I'll be very interested to see how you feel it helps or contributes to your way of working.
