Vocal Effects apps - It would be good to have some / more?

I wonder if TC Helicon can be convinced?

Some Autotune / Pitch Correction / Harmonizing could be interesting.

I guess one of these synth apps probably has a vocoder - which?

  • Voice Synth does and it's on sale but its not AB compatible yet.

VoiceSynth is good. So is iVoxel (same maker as addicitve synth - should be on the bus soon I think). Then there is improVox which is supposedly getting AB compatibility in the next week or so (dev said this past Friday but ran across bugs). Outside of those there are some VocalLive plugins you can get for Amplitube that you can use in AB today.

All the ones Boone51 mentioned are good, here's my list of favorites in order:

    • - iVoxel
    • - VocaLive (the actual app, not just the Amplitube add-ons, a little more complex)
    • - Voice Synth
    • - Vio (is a fun simple app, believe its already been submitted, deeper than first appears)
    • - ImproVox
    • - HarmonyVoice
  • iVoxel has been confirmed as VirSin's next app to get AB support, and is my favorite iOS vocoder.

  • I'm waiting for Vocalive..

  • Interesting, I actually have most of those... ;-) Just wait for them to get on the bus.

Drelbs, an 8 bit game - I just remembered it

  • I really like Vio. Does anybody know what happened to it? It's been submitted quite a while ago...

  • Amusing commercial. See video...

  • Speaking of Virsyn, they need to take another look at their AB implementation of Addictive Synth. It sounds like ass recording into Loopy. off topic I know....

  • I've tested turnado with vocals and it's great. Many weird a extreme fxs, the vowel filter and spectral delay sounds great on vocals.
Also the one knob operation and linked parameters modulation concept works great for live performances

  • Jamup and Ampkit have lot of stompboxes and if you turn off the speaker and amps simulation part of the chain you have a lot of options for fxs

  • smeeth - haven't noticed any issues myself using Addictive recorded into Loopy via AB...

  • My favorite vocal transformer by far is whatever they have inside of the DJ Voxchanger app. Somehow the app can target vocals within a full mix! Song in, transformation out. I got it on the App store and I'm blown away. Any way we could get something like that?! Check it at djvoxchanger.com.

  • Hi JMSexton,
I'm curious: why do you prefer VocaLive to Harmony Voice? I have VocaLive but am thinking of getting Harmony Voice. From the outside it looks like a more professional app. I just want to have mild pitch correction and simple harmonies, not anything like autotune or vocoding. I like the feature in Harmony Voice where you can set the harmonies through the chords you play on your Midi keyboard. Thanks.

  • Don't know about harmonies, but VoiceRack: FX has the best pitch correction setting I've found yet - "Pitch Assist" - virtually transparent pitch correction. It's well worth the full price, the app spends a lot of time on sale, and there are 49 other presets that do some interesting things.

Agree with this and @Reid, as I'm sure you're aware, the previous comments date back two and a half years or more. Many lifetimes have been and gone since then :)
