Diode : play drums with MIDI keyboard?

I have the app but haven't used it much. Before I do, I have a question.

Can you play drums with MIDI keyboard or do you have to use the screen?

Thanks.

I didn't feel like figuring it out myself. Appreciate it.

  • You can. Moreover, MIDI learn feature is also present

  • Yes, as yug said you can play with MIDI. You can also record into the song while doing it (quantized to the steps).

  • mash it with midi pads if possible. you never know when a slamming groove may bust a key ha

    Great.

Is the octave of each drum static or can you play each drum individually at varying octaves? (like in Attack)

    I appreciate your help.

Interesting. Never thought of octaves. Right now you can set up MIDI learn to trigger each voice. I'll think about the octave thing, but there are 16 voices, which are more than fit in an octave.

What you lose doing this (playing the voices via MIDI) is access to all the per-step FX, of course. (Of course, if you're recording the beats in, then you can sequence the FX all you like, an change the notes after the fact as well.)

  • I used to slam my macs keypad as a drum machine but never broke a synth key, so yeah mash them keys. Black notes are hi hat and snares. C is kick. Bam
