Thank you Sir Doug. Very timely etc. Saves a blind dog from pawing hopefully at the ground etc.
Doug is the man!!!!
We double salute you Sir Knight of IOS!
Looks a better UI than Auria, if it'd been this price a few months back I would have probably gone for this instead.
I will do a dedicated Minisampler video over the next few day, but for free I think these pianos and kits are great, but a free sampler too (although basic) is an epic deal.
Thanks Doug and thanks Steinberg. I listened through headphones and the pianos, etc sound as good or even better than Korg's Module.
This is great news because they run natively within Cubasis so no latency.
It would be awesome if Cubasis would release more instruments like HALion that run as native plugins. I would gladly pay money for them.
I'm also forward to using the Supertramp sound, and was that the beginning of Devo's Whip It and Blondie's Rapture I heard in the MIDI patterns? :-)
Thanks Doug, it sounds great. The only downer is the pianos do give Module a run for their money. Why is that bad? I only bought Module at the weekend and if I'd heard these first I may have put my cash elsewhere...maybe not, Gadget integration and all.
@mkell424 , @xen
I strongly disagree. The pianos themselves are better in Module.
These Cubasis pianos in the video only sound better because Doug plays them
seriously.
I love the Pianos and drums!
Sampler Is simple but powerful!
Thank you Steinberg!
At this price its a No-Brainer now more than ever!
The new Cubasis pianos seem somewhat tinny to me, compared to iGrand Piano. I don't have Module, but Module as heard in demos, sounds somewhat metallic, and reverby to me, compared to iGrand Piano. However, Module sounds much better than the new Cubasis pianos, in my opinion.
They're really good but iGrand is definitely better.
Just happy that they do sound great especially when effects are added.
The added instruments in Cubasis would be great to quickly comp ideas, right within Cubasis. Then, better external instruments could be swapped on each track to make a more polished production. Some of the pads and drum kits are really good.
Make sure you have Doug enabled in your settings is all...
Again it's about finding pianos that are good for your style, I really like the S90 in this update, and it's free, and It's my favourite Wurli, I'm not a big fan of Wurlitzer pianos but this sounds very close to the Supertramp Wurlitzer sound which I do like
If I put Korvpressor on Cubasis Minisampler, I have very loud clipping sound at each note ending, why is that happening? Especially on two of EP mark presets? Any ideas to remove that sounds? What is the problem?
Perhaps this clipping sound detected can only go away with longer envelope release! So this is the fact of all sampling problem. Korvpressor is just too good and shows clipping problem up!
God, I remember the dark ages of iOS music (2011) when most music apps were toys, when Jordan Rudess was really the only person you'd see recommending anything by way of him leaving an appstore review and the app creator electing to repost said review in the app description. I'm glad those ages are over and that we have the fantastic folks at SoundTestRoom who work hard at finding the latest app sales to share, the latest apps to try out for us on youtube, showing us neat tips and tricks, etc.
I'm looking forward to Doug's latest video regarding minisampler. Sometime next week, I'm setting up a Patreon account so I can become a monthly donator. :-)
Are the pianos as good as module? It would really depend on what I might use the for but one could certainly make a very nice sounding project with them no doubt. The drums are much like the pianos, highly usable and FREE! I have not even looked at the sampling feature for personnel samples as of yet but it might rain a good share of tomorrow . Today was spent paddling kayak up the St.Regis river in upstate N.Y. , the day was magnificent to say the very least. Living on the river definately has its benefits!
I agree! What sounds better than what is subjective but one opinion that I think most people agree is that they sound good. You can never have too many instruments in your arsenal.
Of course I agree, but on the other hand I feel I have so many guns some times that I can't find the right bullets, let alone remember exactly what I'm hunting and why....
lol That's definitely true sometimes. Synth Master has 800 presets!
Ahh yes, but on your third hand this brings a lot more to the table to keep it all contained in one very tidy and very useful package. In other words the arsenal becomes very useful and neat.
i remixed one of the original demo songs with the new drums and WOW! simply awesome!
These drums are really well put together.
The only thing i really wished was that they allowed us to see on the compressor or effects what levels or amounts one is changing. It;s like driving blind. Also, you can;t save presets of the effects.
Another thing, is that I edited the S90 piano and added some effects but when i tried to save it as a user preset, it wont allow me, unless Im doing something wrong. But over all, I am truly pleased and grateful for this awsome update.
NeoSoul Wurlitzer sounds really good and so does suitcase but it seems you like more the sweeter sounding ones Doug. I also prefer grand to most of the other pianos.
I think Cubasis pianos are meant to be light and cheerful. I see Cubasis as Garage Band's big sister even though GB is much quicker to lay ideas down.
@LFS
Hi Cubasis manager/developer:
We have little discuss before that I wish the effects panel can be on the upper window, so when playing on-board midi keyboard, I can have choices to move effects knobs with note recording, So hope there is options to bring MiniSampler and Microloque and Effects windows all aligned to upper level make more efficient switching or usage!
I did not give Steinberg this request, now more people find it hard to this situation, I hope you can help us for this request!
LFS, Thank you very much.
The directions for the mini sampler mention that factory sounds can not be saved after editing.
Hi Kaikoo,
Thanks for the suggestion. Please make sure to add a scribble or screenshot what you'd like to see and send it to me via PM. I'll make sure to add it to the list.
Best,
Lars
Thank you!
You have class. Welcome aboard!
Yeah, I think my Minisampler video will get done early next week
