Sorry to hijack but this is hot off the press
Which press?
Loopy last beta before official
Wonder what the awesome new thing is. Can he not tell what it is because it's a new product? New AB feature? Or new iOS9 feature for which he's under NDA?
I think it is the new thing Sebastian has been hinting at. It better be good or I'm out. Not
Nah. He's not telling us because he's still got the showman's itch.
I still think Looptree is so much easier to use and understand. I have loopy and although its awesome, at first glance or use, it seems scary....
Maybe the new version will be better. Looptree has something special here IMHO.
looping in circles is cool, layering in circles not so much
Sorry to be a killjoy as this seems to have some cool features but stick Cubasis in loop mode and record overdubs onto a single track, then drag each layer onto a separate track for processing and inserting effects. Am I missing something?
Well you can pretty much do everything or anything you set your mind to with any app. Cubasis is awesome I love it, but to do that, this app excels at simplicity and nothing gets on the way to lay some ideas off your head in pure seconds. By the time I get cubasis going and setting things up, my musical idea might be dried up. For me this little amazing app, gets that idea off my head in seconds and I can worry about the rest later. That's IMHO.
I did not even know I could drag dubbed layers individually in Cubasis! Interesting info!
Neither did I!
What I really like about loopy is that i can decide how long is the loop on the fly. Not sure if LoopTree can do this but I thought that was the limitation of a DAW if/when used as a looper. Could be wrong.
I will have an article and demo of LoopTree coming out later today or tomorrow. Hopefully it will give you better insight as to what the app can do.
looking forward to it Gmslayton.
Yeah, in most (all?) DAWs you'll need to set a tempo and loop length to begin with. Plus, no control over the layers in real time. Works great if you want to capture a bunch of fixed length ideas (I do this in Logic regularly) but doesn't work for free flowing stuff (frippertronics), capture whatever you're playing at any tempo and go sort of stuff, and isn't at all the sort of set up you'd need to do 'live looping' like I see you do Dom. One of my favorite features of loopy is being able to quickly set loop lengths to a factor of the original.

Mine is to be able to start looping without count in and decide (while playing) how long the loop is going to be.
New Looptree tutorial: Beat Repeat
And another one one the metronome and audiopaste
I hope there is a possibility to make LoopTree a bit more Guitar player friendly?
I'd love some ability to trigger the First loop without letting go of my guitar. I know a foot pedal is an option but I'm already using my pedal as the audiovard for Looptree.
Thanks in advance.
Ps I already recommended this app to my fellow guitar players bit they've all said the same thing.
Thank you kindly.
Yes, the ability to trigger the loop by incoming audio at a chosen threshold would be cool for us guitarists.
I've just posted a new thread about some ideas I've been exploring with the Audiobus remote. It doesn't directly address being more guitar friendly, but it should open up a whole world of potential for using LoopTree in the background.
