B-Step MasterClass for Beginners
Hi, there's been a lot of requests for B-Step videos, but I'm more of a "Lego/Ikea Follow-the-Instructions" kind of guy. I also really like the Beat Dissected series from Attack Magazine (http://www.attackmagazine.com/technique/beat-dissected/), so I put together a little tutorial for B-Step in that style. This tutorial assumes that you already know how to connect the sequencer to Gadget's Marseille, but besides that it's really simple. It couldn't be more simple really. And it even works with B-Step lite so that you can try it out for free.
Californication (Opening Riff) - Red Hot Chili Peppers
in A Minor (i-VI progression at 94 bpm)
Here's part 1, with housekeeping and how to tune the 2 chords:

Thanks @Solador78
Why is there a 1/96 delay on first step?
Also an unrelated question....why can I not get the 'Step Copy' row to affect anything. It seems completely redundant. I drag from one step to another but nothing is copied.
Thanks
That's to compensate for the bug in Gadget where it doesn't hear the first step from an outside sequencer. Delaying it by 1/96 is enough time for Gadget to hear the note. And it will quantize the note back to the start once you record the phrase. You can skip this step if you're not using Gadget.
You need to activate the "use step chord" box on the source and destination steps first before it will copy. This isn't needed for the tutorial, if anyone is confused.
Going to settle down with my hot chocolate (another depraved Friday night Chez Goodyear) and take a squint at your tutorial. Thanks for making it. People seem to like B-Step too much for me to keep it deleted...
Aces!
Thanks a lot for your enthusiasm; I watched the demo videos on the dev's site and was impressed. Really powerful stuff. Bought and diving into it.
