Audiobus and WiFi
So, I've noticed some time ago that Audiobus does strange things when turned on or off mid session. Just now I was happily live looping with my Air 2 8.4 when I decided to turn WiFi on to check something on the net. All of the apps went crazy. Sunrizer, Magellan and Samplr unplugged and I wasn't able to reconnect them unless I rebooted audiobus. Also Turnado and effectrix stopped working and Mimix reset itself to default. Basically a disaster if such a thing should happen on stage.
I know that basically the solution would be to keep the wifi off at all times and not mess with it mid-set. I presume this has everything to do with saving auto saving of app States. Wouldn't there, however @Sebastian and @Michael be a way of having a switch in the settings to turn that thing off completely?
This is for those mindless bastards like me who at times do irrational things.
Comments
Hey, so no one is bothered by this?
I'm bothered. But I always keep wifi on and haven't had any real trouble like this. I'm on iOS 7
Had no idea there was any "auto saving app states". What is all that about?
Just a guess. If audiobus is accessing the servers t will be mostly either to save presets or reporting errors. To become unstable like this (needing restart) seems very unusual. Maybe our beloved developers can chip in?
Anyhow, no biggie. There's usually no wireless when I play live so it shouldn't be a problem.
Yeah I've had strange things like this happening, too. Audiobus-sidebar vanishing, icons gone etc. I just don't use WiFi while sessioning anymore... .
