SYNTHMASTER: Removing Preset Packs

Is anyone aware of shortcut to remove entire sound packs purchased on S-Master?

Thank you

  • I'm afraid there's no shortcut for this. On the next version we will implement a button to remove the selected preset packs.

Do you want to remove them to save space?

  • It would be nice to have the option to delete single presets in the "My Presets" folder
(swipe right to left) because the list ts getting longer and longer although I use a certain
preset I made only for one project and then never again. This way I would have a list of
the "actual" presets I want to use.

    OK we will do it

  • @lbiyikoglu When the number of presets grow (in any app) the importance of handling favourites increases.

Why not simply add a 'Favourite Bank' where all the presets that the user has tagged as favourites appear?

The tagged presets in the favourite bank should naturally be sorted by instrument type making it easy to find favourite bass, lead, pad etc...

  • @Ibiyikoglu Great!Please keep it simple...Thanks a lot for this fantastic app!

    Yes.

I would prefer individual sound preset removal but entire packs would work.

I would also like an instrument break down PRIOR to buying it.

More like Beat Hawk or Native Instruments how they give break down of kits, instruments, ARP ect.....

........not have to buy and see. Granted 95% of sounds are incredible and dominate in my opinion.

I have most of the packs but due to space and redundancy of some instruments or sounds I need to clear some out . Last time I did, I needed to unload and reload entire app while having to re-register yada yada...........

  • I like the Favorites idea, when I click the little star in Magellan, boom, the preset ends up in my favorites, easy access.

There are different ways of doing it, but I have a definite bias for apps that allow some kind of selection/preference/grading of presets and/or deletion of the same. In a time of proliferation and space crunch, good housekeeping goes a long way....

  • Sunrizer also does Favorites really well. You just click on the hollow star to the right of each patch and it does two things automatically: it highlights the star, solid white; and it adds the preset to a Favorites bank. It keeps your favorites highlighted in their original banks. Of course a star shape would not have to be used. Maybe a hollow circle, and a solid colored circle.

Yup. Maybe we should have an evolving 'Forum Best Practice' function example list for devs to steal from.

I think Cyclop would one of the fav examples. Like Zilla for patterns etc.

  • Alas, fast-fading Alchemy handled faves like a champ! That should be a "best practice" standard. I know Yonac gets it, but first love vs. that one night ...

  • We submitted a new version to the app store and we expect they will approve in 5 days. This version covers deleting/restoring back banks individually.

@lbiyikoglu Terrific. Thanks for the attention and information also. When I can delete some, I will probably buy some (more) :)

  • Synthmaster factored very nicely in our session last week. The keyboardist who joined us is a great player but programming sounds is not what he does. The great sounding presets were a great match for his great note choices. Even if I never play anything on keys that makes synthmaster shine, it already served far beyond it's price.

You guys are great! Thank you for being attentive and responsive.

I gotta a lot of love for Synthmaster Player. Evidenced by how it keeps popping up into almost every project I've worked on since the app's release. Also...I am proud to say that SMP is my first desktop VST purchase (after 4 years on iOS, I'm expanding to the PC with Cubase Elements. But damn...Windows, I really dislike you).
