So I took the iOS 9 Beta plunge and...
It's not there yet. Some apps lock up on startup, Audiobus doesn't recognize apps until they're started up once again, I ran arp pro into turnado into crystalline and heard crackles on an air 2, things just seem a bit off. Hoping this is good by autumn, I thought why not kick the tires and see how it is now...I'll keep it around for a week if anyone wants to hear about a setup, I have most of the music apps.

Hence the "beta" in the name! Since I am still on 7.1.2 it's unlikely I'll be trying the beta of 9. But thanks for the bravery.
Have you tried any music apps side by side? That's going to be awesome!
Yea, this post serves mostly to say, "don't do like i did", but if you did or want to talk about it, we can.
Music apps need to be rewritten to do side by side. That was the main reason I wanted to check it out, but so far only a few Apple apps can do, nothing 3rd party yet.
Ah Ok. Good luck and thanks for taking questions!
Sounds like 8.4 until May 2016 if you ask me.
I find most music apps are fine but Audiobus is toast and only shows one input app. I'd love to help beta test.
Update: BRICKED.
Do Not install iOS 9 Beta. If you have, Do Not force reset the device by holding the home and power buttons down. My Air 2 is in a restart loop, never getting past the Apple logo.
After starting Cubasis up and it crashing, I thought let's give it a fresh restart and see what happens. Well, now I know. I'm going to let this thing run out of battery, and then hopefully power it up and try tomorrow to get back to 8.4, although I have a feeling that a trip to the Apple Store is in my near future.
Update 2: unbricked. After 3 hours of my Air 2 trying to restart, it came back up. I'm posting this from it. Now the task at hand is to back down to 8.4 and restore my old setup. Once again, if you're thinking of trying out 9 beta, well ... don't.
Thanks for the informative beta review @Zetagy! It was useful enough that MusicInclusive posted the link onto the Facebook iOS Music group's page as a warning to all. :-)
Do you have another IPad?
U can't go back, right?
Went back. All good now. When you Backup iOS, it stores all essential system stuff. When you Sync iOS, it stores all 3rd party app stuff. So, first in iTunes, Archive your backup (look it up), then later, restore from backup, then sync device. Voila, everything's back to normal, my old stuff intact.
Wish apple released an ios music only os.Everytime when the developers have fixed their apps apple releases a new ios and the devs can start all over again.Lets hope ios 9 stays in beta for a very long time.
Just a note here, if you guys don't have enough iCloud space for BOTH iOS8 and 9 backups, your backup will be overwritten by iOS9's.
So you won't be able to restore back.
It happened to me when I installed the iOS8 beta last year.
We're on it by the way but we haven't updated to a new version of Audiobus that solves the issues above.
When IOS9 does come out, & if you can use AU plugins, then maybe Apple might release Logic DAW on the iPad?..... But no way, is it a good idea to try out the beta version yet.
The whole using AU plugins thing is not as simple as some people make it out to be....
