That's really great. I appreciate this a lot.
We may run into some trouble with embeds and browser security settings. If the user is viewing an https page here and there's an http embed (youtube, soundcloud...) some browsers will not display the content, depending on their settings. Just saying it out loud here and now in case inexplicable 'why can't I see it?" stuff comes up later.
Please let me know in case that ever happens...
Also, let's try it out:
Ok. This one is http:
Edit: Both work for me in Chrome and Safari in both http and https modes.
Both work just fine for me.
For the record, it's called 'mixed content' and most browsers at best throw up a warning (or at worst simply don't display the content). And it makes sense—if you're on a page reported as secure and its including content from other websites that isn't secure, particularly in the form of javascript or iframes, the browers should let you know.
Anyway, here's a visual guide on how to fix it in most browsers if it happens to you: http://du.screenstepslive.com/s/docs/m/7107/l/219447-allow-mixed-content-in-browsers
According to Mozilla, all current major browsers do this by default. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Security/MixedContent/How_to_fix_website_with_mixed_content
I'm not at all concerned about privacy... but could this be a workaround for viewing soundcloud- heavy discussions???
Edit: forgot to mention thanks for the extra work on this. Top site you've got here.
