Informative video there, always good to see the mighty Ebow getting some exposure.

I've played one for years and I'd say that it's a difficult as the slide to really get to grips with. It has dynamics galore and can be quite an wild beast !

Allow me to indulge myself with a video I did a few years ago with the Ebow:

  • Excellent stuff, always much better when a guitarist demo's it, top job

  • Checked out your channel too, nice playing and it has a really good sound too, I'm actually left handed too, I think i would have been a better guitarist if i had learned to play a left handed guitar

  • Cheers Doug,

Ta for the comments on me YT channel, I've always recorded the guitar live into the computer - as opposed to using a camera mic and then synced it up with the video in Vegas. This can be a bit hit and miss sometimes though, regarding sync.

Yes, being a lefty and a guitarist can be problematic. I play 'standard' left-handed guitars, but I also learnt (after a fashion) to play right handed guitars upside down too.

  • I was looking thru the Sweetwater catalog and I don't see any mention of lefthanded options. We are like second-class citizens, and some have speculated we're more neandertal-related than typical humans. :(

  • Yes, we 'sinistrals' up until fairly recently were considered to be followers of the left hand path.

  • Many thanks @Flo26 !

@Flo26 I'd love to hear you using the ebow

  • E-bow is such an "under the radar" technique. I love the ethereal feelings you can invoke with just an E-bow and a slide with a little wah thrown in to confuse them all.

My E-bow is over 20 years old and still working great.

I always wondered if a piano would react to its EM field.

  • Oh, forgot to mention that I'm a lefty too. I can't imagine playing guitar left handed though.
