  • Haha, cheers Mr Haq. Now I need to step up a notch!
I've had quite a bit of movement on my channel. The power of TSTR cannot be overestimated! Thanks for the plug.

  • @supadom I was hoping for something like that. Thank you for the inspiration and drive you bring to the iOS musicians community! :)

  • that embedded video is great. How is the Beatstep integrated?

I'm sorry to disappoint but I only use beatstep as a midi controller. It beats anything out there in terms of portability, built quality and controls per square inch ratio. I'm afraid I don't even know how it works in sequencer mode. Can't force myself to learn hardware after experiencing iPad sequencing ;)

  • @supadom Well im mot dissapointed at all. Thanks for the tip man. You probably know im also a fan of stuff being portabel, so ill have to check beatstep out now. :)

....and it is effing cheap! Just a word of caution. It has continuous knobs meaning they're supposed to pick up the position of the software CC you're trying to control and continue from there. It is a bit hit and miss with that but still workable. I use it for slow things like synth sweeps, filters etc. For turnado I much prefer lpd8 which is more simple working class solution but work well.

Another beatstep super useful thing I've discovered is that Samplr responds to the stop button so you can stop it on the fly. The problem is that the start button starts (beatstep's) internal sequencer. My workaround is to stop and restart loopy which in turn restarts Samlplr. Good for bringing a big punch after a quiet part.
