BETTER SAMPLER : Nano-Studio vs. BeatMaker

Which has better sampler?

Are the samplers for each "playable"?

Meaning- you can play variety of pitches of the sampled piece?

Can you import samples into each?

Do each use Audiocopy AND Dropbox?

Thanks

(This is for my IPhone, I am good on my IPad)

BeatMaker 2 hands down for sampling. You even can create velocity layered instruments and a lot other things you can't do within NanoStudio. You can also map endless layers if you want. That is seldom, even in the desktop world. The only downside is that BeatMaker has a really bad folder structure.

  • Beatmaker 2 has a very nice sample editor only problem is the interface that ruins the fun for me. You can import samples with audiopaste or itunes. Dont know about dropbox.
Dont have nanostudio but it looks like it has a more user friendly interface.

  • Yes BM2 can import from Dropbox.

  • Bm2 is prob most fully functional sampler on ios right now

    Gracias.

Thinking of grabbing it for that reason alone for the IPhone. Need a sampler on that. No other purpose for it really.

  • No brainer for the price, like 2 samplers in one (keyboard with velocity layers or mpc style pads)

Even given the counterintuitive filing setup, BM2 on iPhone is a sampling (and hosting) monster, nothing touches it there, as none of its true competition (Cubasis, MTS, Auria) is universal. Great Dropbox integration (like Audioshare you can move entire folders, not just single samples.).

Edit: the great thing about NS for me is Eden synth, including it's integration with the NS sampler. Before AB, and IAA, that's what I wanted most for BM2, an inapp synth (and simplified filing regime. Honestly I've cleared that learning curve, it ain't rocket science, but I understand others pain )

  • As a bonafide NanoStudio fanboy, Beatmaker gets my vote for best sampler. Nothing on iOS compares.

  • I consider this now answered. Just got to find the room to put BM2 back on my box.

Yep it's a big 'un, especially with IAA kits..
