  • @musikmachine is natty crappy or good?

Doh it's going to be a kickstarter.. But on the plus side it would be great for beatmaker3, nanostudio etc for programming beats

  • Almost. I was way more interested when I thought they were using iPhones with minim apps. Hardware but shaped like a phone? I'd rather use Apollo

  • Natty is almost archaic but good see also spiffing.

True, I already have iconnect+ and midi drum pads etc. but this could be great to take out and use wirelessly with my phone. Also great for just making a tune on the couch when I don't want to setup cables and stuff. I don't think I'll back the kickstarter, id rather see how it turns out first

  • @biancaneve are you saying i'm outdated haha! :P

  • Weird that the video doesn't show it as a 3d object—looks entirely like yet-another-iphone-pad-app-thing. A few more revealing photos on SkyNet https://www.facebook.com/lividinstrumentsinc

Looking forward to more specs. I might go for it based on their other controllers. Especially if it really does come in at under $100 for early supporters. Presuming the spec's are good, that's a lot of controller from a maker with a solid track record in a very small space.

  • @syrupcore actually that's a really good point, even though it's a kickstarter it is by Livid. Pretty strong track record from those guys.

Truth: MIDI Designer Pro can do exactly everything I see from the demo. Send data thru Apollo Bluetooth and there is basically no latency.

2nd truth: This Livid device is cheaper than buying a iPod touch to run MDPro. And the tactile buttons are better in many circumstances. And $79 intro price... very very tempted to jump on this.

3rd truth: two hours into launch and already 1/4 of the way toward full backing. No doubt this will be fulfilled.

  • Ah typical devil and angel delima

  • Backed it.
    first thought was another ControllerApp....
days after i see its Hardware, looked again.
    Backed!

Agreed. The video doesn't distinguish it at all from apps.

  • Mmmm...vague memories of JM's Lemur, now doing well on iOS, would this fair any better?

  • Get mine,

    But very disapointed,
    @LIVIDINSTRUMNETS

try to contact livid but, seems they are making a deepdive...
Forum is down, cant send emails...no response...

Cant charge it with standard micro usb, have to cut the plastic to fit it in, very labil, looses contacts...

No Editor! I asked before i bake if the button will be customizable, answer was:
yes it will be full customized....but cant change anything. And it seems just with a skript under os x, for ableton live, but i have no MacComputer.....and wanna use it just with and for my apps.
    The MinimMusicApp is a joke.

    And

I am not alone, after several days try to get contact/support i try it over kickstarter and see there are sooo many negative comments in the campaign commentary, that i thought they are insolvent, or hacked, or .....?

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/livid/minim-pocket-sized-wireless-instrument-for-music-c/comments

Wtf is going on here, did someone knows more? Or have the same probs?

  • Too bad. I got one of Livid's Guitar Wings. They're a small company but they were communicating fairly well at the time. The Wing works well, though was bit clunky. Was assuming the Minim was essentially the same technology and wouldn't have too many issues that hasn't already been addressed with the Wing.

Hope you get an answer soon.

  • I'm almost amazed that my Minim finally showed up. I bought a guitar wing in the meantime because I thought the Minim would just be vapor-[hard]ware.

Minim editor was /just/ released. Check their site.
Minim app is indeed a joke.
I do, however, like the pad response a LOT more than the crappy pads on my Guitar Wing.

That's good to hear. I never fully accepted using the Guitar Wing due to it's clamp clunkiness. Once I started to use it, I realized that the pickguard positioning got in the way of my playing and that I'd rather position it down by my bridge - though the clamp doesn't make any sense there. I could have custom installed, but found the pads weren't worthy of a custom install.

I was actually hoping the Minim would turn out to be that small, wireless controller I could attach to my guitar. If the pads are decent, and if they eventually get the software working, maybe I'll give it a shot.
