BeatStep Pro in conjunction with iOS

Dear Friends of the Forum,

i have a question regarding BeatStep Pro in conjunction with iOS.

The BeatStep Pro has two melodic step sequenceers and one drum sequencer.
For example channel 1 and 2 for melodic and channel 3 for drum.
If i want to use one melodic sequencer for two synth, one synth is on channel 1 the other on channel 4.
Is there something that can route on the iPad channel 1 to 4 for use other synth?

It is only an idea.
I like to have hardware to control.
Hope it is clear.

Thank you for your help and answer.

All the best,

Waldemar

  • Should be very straightforward to do that. I currently run external hardware in and out of ipad via irig midi and you can set up different midi channels on the relevant hardware and ios apps including midi sync of drum apps.
I intend to get the beatstep pro very shortly myself, it's looks to be perfect for my needs, to use as master clock to control drum apps and send midi sequences to different synth apps, and set up the beatstep pads as drum or one shot triggers etc.

    Dear Lurcher,

    thank you for the feedback.
Please let us know your experience.
    Maybe a short video ;-)

  • BSP works well with iPad but to do that one-to-many MIDI channel method you will need to look into something like the app Midiflow. I haven't been able to leave my BSP alone for a couple weeks. If I create anything on the iPad anymore I'm always using them both together now. Hate tappin that glass.

  • how weird I was just about to post a question about the beat step pro, hope it's ok to post it here. would just like to know what if anything else out there is comparable?
