Hot iPad ?
Was working on one of my Gadget tracks with the iPad (Air 2) out of it's case. After about 20 minutes it was starting to get really rather warm at the back (presumably where the battery is). Anything to worry about, or is this normal ?
I would imagine that Gadget is one of the more CPU intensive apps when running lots of instruments.

I believe (but could be wrong) that the iPad will shut off it gets too hot (sure I read that somewhere)
I've had it (Mini 2) get hot but I usually either have it in a leather case (so I don't notice so much) or have it in an iTrack Dock - the dock definitely cooks it and it makes me nervous sometimes - but so far no worries (touches wooden table and salutes nearest magpie)
Hot is not good. My iPad had to be replaced as it got super hot one time when the case didn't fully close. Worst thing was that I was charging it also. Well, somehow the charging system overheated and the iPad list all charge. When I came back to try to charge it, it wouldn't even turn on. Never did. Took it to Apple store and they replaced it out of warranty by a month! I paid $99 bucks though. Good thing American Express has the best extended warranty so they paid for the whole thing!
Moral of story, don't let your iPad overheat. Will lose battery life and component life as well.
Accidentally overworking the wifi can quickly overheat it.. Like being slightly out of range or on the other side of a brick wall.
And charging while playing heats it up.
This is correct. A few years ago I was in Florida and brought my iPhone 4 to the beach. I was out there a couple hours and it was boiling hot. Then a message came up on the phone saying it would turn off given the extreme heat. I would imagine the same thing is built into the iPads.
That's what happens when you connect to the iTrack Dock - or any other interface that charges while you use it - I'm not sure what the long term impact on my battery will be.
I noticed with the summer, my car is hotter with the window up then down.
It only happens with Gadget and working on a 'heavy' track for a while, after that it's okay. Gadget also eats up the battery percentage pretty quickly too. Anyone else noticed this ?
I noticed when i switch the ipad off it gets colder.
Really, at what point does it stop getting colder, or does it freeze ?
I also noticed when i put my ipad in ice cold water it never heats up again.
Sorry, i just wanna say its normal
