Comments

  • Ifretless guitar, GuitarCapo, JamMaestro.

  • Guitar Capo is cool because you can play the chord pads by midi so you can make use of the inbuilt chord library.

  • Gadget has guitar sounds in both Marseille and Darwin. I couldn't comment on the quality though.

Digital Sound Factory has some wonderful soundfonts, which you can control via MIDI in Bismark BS-16i , MultitrackStudio, or a few other apps. The best one for what you're looking for would be Guitars & Basses. But their flagship Proteus Pack has some great guitar sounds as well. On their home page you can listen to demos, and if you sign up, they hold sales quite often.

There are some good free soundfonts on the web (though IMO less consistent than a good commercial one), and some threads here about that. I can recommend for example Don Allen's Timbres of Heaven Soundfont as a modern, good quality free one, with different guitar sounds. You could find a free Windows or Mac soundfont player and check it out before commiting to BS-16i for example.

It would be great if TJ some day gets the ability to play soundfonts natively.

  • Ifretless bass

  • I second AndyXs comment about DigitalSoundFactory. The sound quality is great because he uses the original ROMs not resampling. Sign up for their daily deals email.

Thanks for including the link. I confess I'm somewhat cautious with that here - for some mysterious reason, every time I've included a (legitimate) link, my post got "tagged for review" and never again saw the light of day...
