Waiting for the next update of Thumbjam...
I hate "stuck notes", but Jesse is a Beautiful Mind and he will solve the problem soon.
Among other things, Geo Synth does not work well with TJ.
Thanks for your attention @Sonosaurus and for your fantastic apps!

I've fixed those specific issues and will be putting out an overdue bugfix release quite soon.
Hmm. I have no problem with stuck notes. Must be a unique circumstance issue related to a certain device.
In fact, Thumbjam is one of the only apps that has never given me any trouble, but they sure have added features I use a lot.
The MIDI stuck notes issues are specifically with instruments where the polyphonic sample settings is OFF and also (separately) with the special note tying NRPN that Geo Synth sends and that TJ interprets (recently buggy).
Don't know if this is already noted but i'll explain my issue just in case.
I'm trying to control an iPad Thumbjam with an iPhone Thumbjam. I use Apollo over midi. It all works fine except volume. My keyboard (playing the iPad Thumbjam) is much quieter than the bluetooth and I can't seem to change it. I thought I could use the Edit/control and adjust the fixed volume but I've tried doing that on both devices and it didn't seem to work as I thought it would. Might easily be something I'm doing wrong though...
I'll need specifics of your setup, for instance are you using multiple instrument slots, and what the specific control setting are for each, as well as your midi configuration in TJ. It might be easier to do that via email: [email protected]
While I'm wrapping this update up, do you folks have some suggestions as to what you'd like to see with Audiobus Remote triggers/buttons for TJ?
Jesse - Not specific to AB Remote, but wasn't there some talk previously about adding in the Sonatina Symphony instruments in TJ? I know it's possible to load them in our own, but having them downloadable within the app would be great. Thanks!
I think it'd be cool to have a toggle button to scroll through presets and scales
For Thumbjam's remote buttons I think "delay on/off" & "reverb on/off" & "all notes off" might be useful to more than a few people.
There may be more technical answers, but I like this.
Interesting question as TJ puts so much on the main screen and it's largely a foreground app for me.
Looper controls would be cool. "Quick Sampling" of some sort?
Preset and scale scrolling could be cool but I think it might depend a lot on how you have the app set up. I rarely want to go from one preset to another in the list with an app like TJ—I'm loading it for a specific sound and/or setting a specific scale/key. Seems easier to just open the app.
I'm looking forward to the rewriting of the sampling capabilities to give it better abilities to sample (like we discussed several times previously)
Preset / scale switch
Delay / room on/off
Sustain lock - sustain
toolbar on/off
I'm looking forward to that too, unfortunately (like the last DJ release) this will just be an overdue bugfix (mostly) update.
I understand. I know that the sampling improvements will get there sometime, so I'll just wait patiently. :-) Thanks for the response @sonosaurus !!
Hi @sonosaurus - if there was any way to send a few more/different midi CCs out from the playing surface that would be great.
At the moment I think it just sends velocity, some pitch bend and cc10(pan). Would be great if it could send a couple more when you slide your finger up and down.
The other thing (although just a nice to have for me personally) is an easier way to build your own instruments with SoundFonts. In fact now that Apple have locked down some of the folders is that even possible? I created a multi sample piano once but found it was a bit buggy to do so. Despite following the instructions on naming conventions it miss-allocated some of the samples so I had to fix manually and I seem to remember that 2 of the ways to get the samples in (eg audiocopy) didn't work. I had to drop them over via a computer in the end.
To be honest though just a few more IAP instruments would probably be a whole lot easier all round.
Loved your DJ update and looking forward to the one too. Thanks for keeping them updated!
I just played around with TJ using a guitar>MidiGuitar>MidiFlow as input and thought it would be great if I could assign different Midi channels to the 4 different instrument slots. And I had a stuck notes problem and couldn't find a panic button anywhere. Would be useful to have...
what's this, are we getting an sample slicer with transient detection cause that would be sick?
If you set the Midi Input channel base to a number (e.g., NOT Omni) then the slots will respond to consecutive channel numbers starting from that number.
As for a panic button, you can make it appear if you just set a midi output to send notes in the TJ midi prefs. For instance, enable NOTE OUT for the Network Session and then you'll get a panic button in the lower right of the main screen. There is also a harder to reach panic button under Sounds->Volume/iPod... Silence All.
@sonosaurus awesome! I knew those things must be in there already. I just couldn't find them.
Waiting for the next update of ThumbJam...YET!
Please Jesse, tell me something!
Thanks
Would love for it to send pitch glide midi. I couldn't get it to control animoog with the pitch glide.
+1
I have mentioned this before, and I'll do it again, quantized input (same as in drum jam) would be awesome
To make up for that cheesy April Fools video I subjected you to, I've decided to put this and an arpeggiator in for the next update. Just did a little code borrowing from DrumJam and I'm half-way done already
Thanks for the shove!
@sonosaurus Whoa that's fantastic news! Will this be the Link update too? Also will bedlam make its way across too?
Yes, Link too (had to implement time stretching for the loops in order to properly support it, so bonus). No bedlam!
Still fantastic news. Thanks as always Jesse!
