Need help with Nave
Hi guys. Anyone know how to clear stored controller adjustments in Nave? I was playing a MIDI sequence from an external source and adjusted the speed of the arp. Now every patch in Nave has the knob adjustments recorded and I tried different MIDI sequences but the same thing happens. I closed Nave and I did a hard restart on my iPad. Thanks.

Hi mkell424. In the tape and system page, on the right hand side are 2 buttons under Midi.. Press MAP. At the bottom right are 3 options, one of which might help is Restore defaults. Hope this works out, as I've never had to do it.
Thanks @Runcell. I'll report later today.
I am also not sure what you were playing into.
Loopy - DAW -- etc..
Not sure if your MIDI sync may not be same settings or corresponding apps if Runcell isn't right.
I'm not 100%
@RustiK What I'm trying to do is make a song using only Nave for the Waldorf contest. I'm using Ableton as my DAW. I'm using it because I like it better than the current iOS sequencers.
iOS has the restriction of only allowing one instance of an app to be open so I have to record the MIDI data for a part on a track, modify it, and then when I'm ready record the audio from the iPad on another.
SOME apps you can only have 1 instance.
I hear you on the contest. Working on it as well.
Using 100% custom made from scratch presets as well.
Good fun.
NAVE acts up for me quite a bit. Hard to say sometimes with it. Like a difficult relationship that the sex is too good to leave.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
Well I figured out the problem. First restore under MIDI map unfortunately did not work. I loaded a different project in Ableton and then the problem went away. So it has to be that particular project. I'm new to the program so I'll have to figure out how to get to MIDI CC data within Ableton.
@RustiK Good luck to you as well.
What problems have you been experiencing with Nave?
Chronic crashes while making presets and sometimes just in use
Unable to use A-Bus tabs functions (much like Z3ta)
-that is resolved with AB remote though
Just seems to hiccup more than other. I do push it to the max with preset work.
I've read people have lost their presets. I just started using it because of the contest. It's an awesome synth but it has some quirks.
I've not experienced any quirks or vanishing presets.. But I am still using ios 7 and I'm not updating Nave as the last update was "Midi device bug fix" ?? ! Midi works well for me so I'm not one to fix what ain't broke.
How is everyone getting on with their Nave tracks ?
I've been working a lot so I haven't had much time for it. So far I've laid down some beats.
I'm not that far yet ! Got a bunch of drum sounds made and imported them to nano studio ready to make a beat out of them.. Slow going.
It's been difficult for me to use just one synth when it comes to drums which is probably due to my minor programming skills and my taste in music. It's much easier to use a dedicated drum program.
Indeed.
It's mostly the Amp Envelope. As this will give you the shape of each drum.. And if you only use the the pink/white noise oscillator (turn all others down) you can shape (with amp env) claps, snares, open and closed hats.
One thing I did was to make for example a clap, then saved it before trying to make it better using filter, reso and Filter Envelope.
@RUncELL You're right but to my ears there's a huge gap in quality between the sounds of Nave (a high quality synth) and basic synth drums. But there are a lot of great songs using basic synth drums from the 70's and 80's. And there are great synth songs that don't have drums at all. I think I'm spoiled!
IOS 7 ?
Wow. You are missing a lot of great apps that aren't capable.
