  • Yay! Thanks. Thats a very nice one

  • Thanks for the heads up.

  • Does that include the IAP's? I probably sank about $10 into that app, but it was good value. Kind of like a sampled version of Xynthesizr - TONS of available content for it and you can add and delete it as needed. Made some nice improvements too, like locking to a particular scale/mode, and then labeling what the actual notes were on the grid.

A little confusing if you wanted to link together multiple parts to write a song, but as a groove creator to make a little hook or fill-in, it's excellent!

Download house and ambient packs, no IAP buttons there.

Jazz and Chiptune also there for download. Free.

  • Yes. All IAPs (features & sounds) included.

  • Always a bitter-sweet feeling when something you spent money and time on is 'given away'...why that should really make any difference I don't know; you did what you did and got what you got, but there's a little human atavistic selfishness that remains :)

As regards the app I had high hopes for it, but in the end because of its inherent clumsiness (somehow) as regards flow I didn't end up using it as much as I thought I would. One of those ones (for me) that hit a wall. BUT I think @StormJH1 makes a good observation as regards it being a 'hook or a fill' creator that some could find has a place....

  • Awesome. Thanks for the heads up!

  • But - sorry to say - this Beatwave doesn't show up as Input-app in Audiobus (on my iPad Air with all the latest versions); also Open In from the Recordings-pane isn't working... Am I the only one?

  • I'm a little confused about the two Beatwave versions both of which are free. The link in the first post takes you to an older version that gives the Audiobus error message which indicates it's not updated for AB2. The other version which seems to be newer has a $10 IAP for the Pro version. I downloaded both versions and played with them for a few minutes but ended up deleting them both.

I just don't need any more apps that are limited to 4/4 time signatures with 16 beat grids. This is the same reason I ended up deleting Auxy which has a really nice piano roll.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to change the time sig or number of beats in the grid in Beatwave?

Y! I havn't seen it on AB input slot, Beatwave Pro needs a fix!

Well, Beatwave shows up as a compatible app on the Audiobus-website, but Beatwave Pro does not! (So I deleted this app for free...)

  • Weird stuff. Beat-wave Pro (the one linked to) last updated 2014

Beatwave last updated May 2015 with iap upgrade to beatwave pro 2.

  • This seems like this is some kind of error to me. When I open it up I get a message that says "test" with a link to store.

  • It really is weird. It looks as though the pro version was abandoned and now made free -- land the real version is now premium. Strange strategy.

Like the acrylic neon colour shining in the dark...

  • Makes sense. Beatwave Pro 2 is now out, so Beatwave Pro 1 is free, but abandonware. Beatwave (free), as the trial version, now upgrades to Beatwave Pro 2. I doubt anyone who has Beatwave and either went pro or just bought a few IAPs lost anything.

I liked it but deleted it. It was ultimately too self-contained for me, more of a distraction than a serious tool. But it has a great UI and might make a nice song sketcher for some folks :)

  • not really. the pro version (2) was abandoned and now made free -- the free version (2.5) is now premium. yes, weird and a bit confusing.

  • Thanks @Kaikoo. It's a fun app.

  • It needs Audiobus update.

  • I would use this but with no AB, no IAA and Open In doesn't work it's not worth the trouble. Too bad because there's a lot of potential here as a "hook/fill" generator as previously mentioned.

  • (Whispers) iOS 8.2 and below... IFunbox...really good samples. You didn't hear it from me.

  • Spent an hour with this again last night. Feels like it's not quite the sum of its parts. Still potentially useful, but not certain how much I will actually use it.

That can be said about many apps I bet! I'm holding steady trying to not buy or download apps I won't use regularly. I'm trying to hold off on lorentz, even though it sounds cool, knowing I barely use any synths and if I need any I have about 20 already, plus gadget...We'll see...

You are right sir. We (of course) have a desire to make the silk purse from anything we're given or choose to get distracted by :)

Has to be said that I jumped back into Gadget (which I haven't used for a while) and found myself in two minutes wondering what the hell I had been thinking previously etc....

You need baby silkworms to silkshop to make silk purse on silkroad!

    Japanese musician 'Kitaro' did it!

  • First problem I had after DL was a couple of pop-ups telling me that Audiobus could not be initialized (automatically useless); the grid UI seems a tad unstable (the upper right corner of the grid seems to bend away from a finger touch) and some of the boxes along the edges don't respond every time to trying to get turned on or off. IPhone 5, 8.4.

  • Sorry guys, this was an unintentional release. This copy was an older version initially used for promotion, but it was accidentally released.
