Korg 50% off sale through Aug 21 (so 50% off of $29.99 = $19.99?)

So what is with the Korg sale saying it is 50% off and none of the apps are actually 50% off?

  • The KORG sales are "up to 50%", which also includes the IAP's for those apps that have them. More info here:

I noticed Gadget was missing too.

I'm still a sucker for a bargain so I felt compelled to grab Ivory (33% off) and Wurley (50%).

Given the stuff I generally turn out I do question if I will ever need the vast array of piano emulations I now have access to - but I guess iOS music apps were never about 'need'. ;)

I don't use it a lot, but I can't imagine not having it.

  • It's misleading advertising. Instead of giving the actual discount on the apps sales page they're using a generic 'up to 50% off' for every app. I'm tempted by the iPolysix, but it's not half price.

  • I think im missing ipolysix, too

Is it still AB compatible? I notice it hasn't had an update for nearly a year....

  • Best deal from Korg for me was Xmas'14 all of the Korg Legacy Collection was just over £30, a real bargain.

    Sounds great though.

    @monzo

Was still working with AB last time I checked. I'll try later when I get home and confirm.

  • @monzo works for me but does have the 'turn it upside down to make it work' feature.

  • Worked for me too, however the AB bar floats in the middle of the screen.

  • Ah cool. I was thinking of getting it soon, but when I revealed I spent about £20 per month on apps just now Mrs Monzo pulled a disapproving face, so I might save it for a birthday treat next week. Sounds good in the vids.

  • Like being a kid again innit. Burfdays and chrimble....

  • @monzo Oh.....and I must say I felt similarly about the monthly amount until I started to do the maths on pedicures, manicures, facials, messages, hair coloring, posh shampoo products etc....which, vaguely related, reminds me that whenever you mention 'Friday Night Apps' I think of the unctious old barber who always used to ask my dad (to his mortification and my single digit confusion) 'Something for the weekend sir...?'

Oh definitely, and when I mentioned how much a real VCS3 would cost the eyebrows returned to their default location.

I haven't spent much recently anyway, what with work mountains and trying to find time to paint again, but now my apptronica setup is working better it's time to fill the gaps my collection.

Do you use the iPolysix much? Don't see it mentioned on here very often..

  • @monzo Nope. Haven't used it much. I know this will get howls of 'Absolutely not!' but there are aspects of how I feel about it that remind me of the iMS20 (maybe it's the button design?). I think it can do lots but I don't do lots with it. Yet.

  • I haven't used it much lately either, but it is multi-timbral and has some good sounds.

  • I think the workflow is based very heavily on the iMS20, but as funjunkie27 says there's the added bonus of poly/multi-timbral. There's a good vid onYoutube 'Submarine Drift' which shows it off well. Maybe I'll get it as a pressie, I bought Mimix and Lorentz a few days back so I'm probably over quota for a few days.

  • @monzo using MiMix? Or, better put, how are you using Mimix in a way you find useful?

  • I've got iPolySix but I never really got iPolySix.

  • JGY - MiMix is handy as a low resource mixer. Toss it in the OP slot of a multi AB channel setup, the add it as an IP on one chain feeding Audioshare to record. Midi add will be a big plus to control externally.

Two ways at the moment - using it as a mixer in a multi channel setup (you can add multiple instances of Mimix) so I can tame the volume of some apps (DM1 for example) via a simple interface, rather than jumping from app to app to set the levels, and as @funjunkie27 said, you can route the whole thing into Audioshare (or Auria etc.) to record your session. I have a bit of a thing about keeping track numbers down, and I also like to lock things down to prevent over zealous after tweaking, so recording a single track mix of the whole thing is very useful for my way of working.
