Thanks really helpful!
Good idea!
Hooray for Samplr!
(And for TSTR of course)
Yeah. I'm so pleased you nudged us/me again with this. I love Samplr, but only for the 25% I was probably getting out of it. I did watch this when it was first posted, but revisiting it now and filling in the gaps has made a huge difference.
i skipped through the vid a little. did he mention that "quantize to bars" option in the recording button? that is incredibly useful for resampling and even trimming a sample. you can't automate FX, but you can start recording a resample and mess with FX on the original sample and it'll be there in the new one
also the thing where you can "grab" the volume bar of one sample then switch to another and mess with it, but the finger on the volume bar of the first sample will still adjust that one as long as your finger is still there. i use that for fade-ins alot. that goes for anything in samplr, really. FX, the sample, if your finger is held on it you can switch to another sample while still affecting the first one.
...i use samplr alot.
Great app, one of the best...
I've just bought iKaossilator in the sale, didn't realise how useful this app was with the loop list feature and sample import. I now really wish samplr had a similar thing so when your happy with a session you can save it to the list like a scene, triggerable scenes like a song mode. The ability to choose different parts from different scenes to play together and ability to export project to Live. That and midi learn of course
That would be a killer update along with multiple outputs. Apologies, I seem to have turned the thread into a feature request wishlist but we all know Samplr is already great
did you say that ikaossilator now has the export to ableton live option?
yes but you can only do scene by scene export and then you merge in Live. You cant export the whole list in one unless I'm missing something.
thanks for the tip
thank you for this great tutorial!
The better something is the more we want. Life I guess. I agree with @Carnbot's ideas of possible updates, but it sounds as though this is now unlikely. Makes Dick Dastardly frustration noises as regards drat and double drat etc
As mentioned above, this is a great section by section overview by Sir Doug. Reminds me that it's often worth going back and taking a look at TSTR after you've grown accustomed to some of any apps functions. Also reminds me how much I'd miss his efforts if they were no longer on the table and why my couple of bucks a month as a low-level patron is a great investment in terms of making the most of my other, far more substantial, investment in apps as a whole...
No, but it gets mentioned in the comments. Good feature to know about; I had a hard time recording into Samplr before I found out about it.
