Korg Gadget, Lets Compose With Helsinki, Demo for iPad

I thought I'd do a few Gadget videos, and use just one ot two Gadgets per video http://thesoundtestroom.com/korg-gadget-lets-compose-with-helsinki-demo-for-ipad/

  • That was pretty cool

  • Very cool. Thanks Doug. Would be great if you could do other Gadgets.

That one has inspired me to try Helsinki for some bass.

    As always, massive respect :)

  • Great. Thanks.

  • Yeah, then an is do more of these Gadget videos

  • Excellent instinct Doug. Always good to see those things 'commonly' used from your unique perspective.

  • Thank you Lord Goodyear

  • Very nice, Doug. Thanks a lot. More please!

  • Nice. Most of us own many instrument apps but it goes to show what you can do with just one synth. Back in the old days people like Vangelis would compose an entire album with just one or two synths. He performed most of the Blade Runner soundtrack with a Yamaha CS-80.

  • Ah yes, the beautiful.......and temperamental CS80

  • Awesome video Doug. That melody at the start is so eerie . I tend to like my beats on the darker side and that gave me chills.

  • Yeah I'm well into the dark stuff at the moment because me and Colin Powell AKA Alter Ego UK are nearing the completion of the very very dark retro prog rock album "The Haunting Of Sally Caster"

  • Great sounds, Doug! :)

  • Cool, Helsinki is such a great synth..

    More please

  • That was awesome Doug. I don't think I've ever even tried Helsinki. Let this be a message to all of us- if you have gadget you have TONS of synths, no need for any others! ;-) so much unexplored, I definitely need to spend some time with gadget tonight, too much day job work lately has left me creatively empty. Using just one synth is such a good way to really learn what you have.

Great Video, would love to see more videos, especially the new Abu Dhabi gadget and some of the synths for creating bass lines. I feel I could get much more out of them but have limited knowledge.

  • I'm boycotting Gadget until they add audio tracks, which hurts me more than it hurts them because Gadgetcloud is the only way I manage to get any listeners.

    HA! THAT'LL SHOW EM!

But I feel you as regards audio.... :)

Agree with this. I have been encouraged to bring in loops (Session Band etc) and re-funk-them (technical term), which works to an extent, but I'm pretty sure I'm making jam with potato fingers at this point...
