ifunbox 3 released , is it working? (for windows)
Hi,
I saw on another post that ifunbox 3 is released but it doesn't read the raw file system like before ios 8.3. Did anyone else had success?
Comments
Works well for me. Unless I am not fully grocking 'raw file system'. But i can access all my apps files and backup and copy to it etc just fine. With my ipad air it is flawless however with my mini some days i need to plug and unlpug it a couple times before it shows up.
Haven't tried it yet, but it's on my todo list. But from what I have read, there is still mo access to the raw file system unless you are jailbroken. Will let you know once I try it. I am running 8.3 and 8.4 on my iDevices.
Hmmm, just tried it again on my nonjailbroken mini and works fine... Looking in raw file system now...
@AudioGus - what iOS version do you have on your mini?
I have 8.4 and have yet to get 8.4.1
Upgraded iFunbox to 3.0 and iTunes to 12...(something).
@AudioGus - you are correct that the "Raw file system" is accessible, however, previous to 8.3 you had access to every App that was installed on your device, now only those that have iTunes file sharing enabled. It's still better than going thru iTunes for those Apps.
@Korakios - iFunbox 3 does not allow access as was possible before iOS 8.3, so if you need/want access to App data that is not available via iTunes file sharing, then you'll have to stay at 8.2 or lower. I didn't follow all the details on Jailbroken devices, so it may be possible going that route, but you'll have to research that.
This is great news. Was waiting for this.Thanks.
This does nothing that iTunes won't do, what the point of using it again?
can it still transfer folders? That would be the major benefit over iTunes, especially for auria.
Yah it does seem better than itunes in that with cubasis i could get deeper into subfolders.
I recently got an ipad air (sold my mini) and had iOS 7.1. I feel so stupid I upgraded , should have read better about ifunbox 3....Thanks @Ganthofer
drag and drop of multiple files alone is a huge step forward. Not to mention the easier browsing and the hassle with the device sync for the simplest tasks..AND the possibility to avoid iTunes wherever i can. This is a peace of bloated shit. That was just the first things that came to my mind.I assume you don't access (external) your device very often?Otherwise you would know that.
The big advantage is you can also acces the folders and move files.
The only advantage that I see is iFunbox does not make me twitch with agony. How could a single company design such lovely hardware/software for iOS devices and at the same time make iTunes so unpleasant to operate?
yay for iFunbox
The only logical answer to your question would be that they are trying their best to make you not want to use it. Go figure.

Worked for me to new custom timbres into Animoog
@RustiK Animoog's timbres are now accessible by iTunes, so iFunbox is able to access that folder on iOS 8.4 without access to raw file system.
I'm hesitant to upgrade my main iOS device to iOS 8, just on principle. I don't really need the raw file system access.
Which apps really need access to raw files any more?
Excellent - didn't realise there was an update out - anything that can get me away from the pain and suffering of iTunes...
