Korg Gadget, Lets Compose with Darwin iM1, Demo for iPad
I made this when the just after the iM1 was released, I had forgotten about it but it goes nicely with the "Lets compose With Gadget" series I'm doing, so here it is.....again http://thesoundtestroom.com/korg-gadget-darwin-im1-multitrack-project/

Damn you Doug! Now I want to buy im1... Must stay strong...
@mrufino1 Sorry, but it's worth every penny.
Yes, I bet it is. Just trying to hold onto those pennies right now. I guess that means I'll aim towards their next sale. I'm getting ready to buy a 5 string uke bass in September, trying to focus on that. And life's daily crazy expenses (2 kids on club soccer teams now, big business here in NJ...)
Yup the Korgsters are expensive, and we don't get nothing from Korg for free, that why I always buy the apps when they first come out, you know they are going to be really good and that is usually the best price you'll get
Korg or Kids? Tough modern choices we face....
I think iM1 is the best Synth on IOS. I realize certain synths are set to make different sounds and do different things, but this has always been what I thought a synth should be. No disrespect to any others, I own and use all of them. But iM1 is my bread and butter #1. (I'm writing this to tempt @mrufino1)
As luck would have it, I'm a TERRIBLE keyboardist, I can pretty much only play simple synth bass lines, which is covered already. So I know that I won't use it much. I'll get it someday though. I need the 5 string uke bass much more!
Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but it's on sale at the original intro price right now ... until this Friday. So you can have your Uke and Darwin, too
I know it's on sale... ;-). Believe me, if I actually needed it for gigs I would have bought it immediately! My iPad is usually running qsc touchmix these days, with my daughter's old iPod touch running sunrizer for my synth bass rig. However, if we ever cover "Janie's Got a Gun" then I'll HAVE to buy im1...even if that's the keyboardist's part.
Off to call the bandleader with a set list suggestion! ;-)
Hey, my wife is a big Aerosmith fan ... I could tell her, "but then I could play Janie's Got A Gun for you!"
I'm just kicking myself for not already having 3500+ soundpack available to me in Gadget. Seems like there are a lot of really nice, useful sounds stowed away in there. And only 100 Mb? Madness.
I've recently become a big fan of IOS music apps. One thing I've learned, buying them is addictive ) . I already have more than I need, but iM1 is one app that I go to all the time, especially for gigging
