Launchpad Pro for iPad.. Might be a great controller
Launchpad Pro is able to be used standalone and has midi output through 5pin din and an isometric key note mode. Supports velocity and after touch too.

Well, it says pressure sensitive, so to me that says aftertouch. Yeah, could be a nice controller. If I could afford it.
It is a nice controller! I am still trying to get Animoog to respond to the poly/after touch correctly. Might be something I am doing wrong.
But you can assign midi channels right on it, and the note, fader and drum modes are great. I had the fader mode assigneed to DFX and that was really fun. It works amazing with Live (live lite come with it). I traded in my S so I got it for 240, but I am done buying hardware for along time.
Does it need to be hooked up to a pc to create/edit scenes etc. ?
I don't think there is one. I have used apps that have midi learn so it hasn't been an issue. I think they are stagnant cc / note messages for it.
