Filter Midi notes with the iconnectmidi+4?

edited August 2015 in General App Discussion

Can anyone tell me if this is possible. I know I could sign up for the iconnectivity forums but I thought there would probably be a lot of users here and someone might know.

I want to hook a 16 channel midi sequencer into the midi input and that will send all those channels out.

My problem is some of my hardware responds in omni mode only. So I want to set one of the outputs to only sent one channel (let's say channel 5) out of midi port 2.

Anyone know if this is possible?

  • Omni mode is what you want and midi out 1 sends channels 1 to 16, while midi out 2 will send channels 17 to 32 this I know.. But I don't have an iConnect and I don't midi up my iPad yet so I best leave it there !

  • Yeah it can reroute MIDI like that.

MidiFlow can do so as well, if you have the Camera Connection Kit and a USB hub.

Thanks guys, I think your misunderstanding what I'm trying to do. Or I don't get it. I will contact iconnect support.

Short answer is yes - but you need to dedicate one of the midi outs to each Omni device.
I've got an iCM2+, but it's not nearby, but have a look at the manual page 17
    (http://www.iconnectivity.com/downloads/manuals/iCM4plus_user_guide_ver1.pdf)
There is an ios app called iConfig which should allow you to assign a certain channel(s) to any of the 5pin outs. I seem to recall there were qwerks to it, but the desktop version of iConfig was a bit easier to navigate.

    Good luck
