[VIDEO] NYTImes video on the Skrillex, Diplo, and Justin Bieber collaboration... no hatin'!
The NYTimes has a cool video of these guys talking about their collaboration:
Last month, I saw the grateful dead play with trey anastasio in Santa Clara.
Trey got mixed reviews. I was one of the people who was impressed.
Music is hard. As much as I am not a fan of Bieber, and I think Skrillex is overdone, I'm always interested to hear how people work together to make music.
As much as Justin Biebre pees in a bucket, he I appreciated this collaboration.
Comments
Diplo tweeted over a year ago that he has a track of him, SOPHIE, Madonna and Nicki Manaj. While I'm only a fan of SOPHIE out of that bunch, I'm extremely curious to hear that track.
Team M.I.A.
There's a Bieber/Slipknot mashup video that was really well done, with re-tuning the original pitches in the songs.
I'll take collaboration in music writing any day over composing by myself.
The story was bland to me but what I did enjoy was the video editing. Seeing the sound waves outside of the "screen" was cool. Also, it actually looks better if you view it in portrait mode, which I've never seen...that is brilliant!
takes me back to when I first went to see Madonna live. Never liked her music back then. Only went because I fancied the girl that asked me to go. Have to admit though I thought she put on a good show and it made me think of the technical problems needing to be solved by her crew to put on such a good show.
I think if we look with open eyes and mind, we can all get something positive from all music, whatever genres we prefer.
Not necessarily - also due to a girlfriend influence I was dragged along to a Tight Fit (the lion sleeps tonight) 'gig' in the 80's where they mimed and generally ponced about. The experience left me mentally scarred and I wasn't able to listen to music at all (except for ABBA's 'Arrival') for a number of years.
Even now the thought of it makes me run to use the toilet.
Lol - I feel for you....hope the scars did not run too deep. I think it works for bands too. I don't think Ultravox ever got over being kept off the number one spot for Vienna, by and unmentionable song...
@Monzo, Deep trauma feller ! I remember that utterly sh*te outfit, unfortunately.
I could only take the first minute of that video too. Perhaps I should go to the cave...

Hang on........flush
Sorry....I couldn't resist....
