Samson Graphite 25 with Behringer iStudio is202?

I been on the hunt for a midi keyboard that will work with my is202. Since the interface does not support USB midi, but only the traditional 5pin style cord hookups, has anyone tried this set up to varifiy if they work well together? I will be using a outboard power supply for the keyboard anyway so ot doesn't have to be neccessarily bus powered...but how well does this set up work together? Speaking of coirse i just hook the keyboard via the midi out into the docks midi in jack and havimg the device powere via a wall adaptor power supply. Im tryimg to get a decent setup with this interface without having to buy expensive USB hubs to get a midi keyboard running into it.

  • The Korg Triton 25 is on sale for $99 US.Has traditional midi connection.

  • Thanks. Welp i just made the decision to go with the Graphite 25. Seems to have what i was looking for as well in a controller. Will post updates as soon as it arrives how the setup goes.

  • The Carbon 49 works perfectly. I'd think yours would be fine.

  • I don't have the Samson Graphite 25, but as a iStudio owner I can assure you that the physical Midi ports work flawlessly .

  • Thats all i need to know thanks for the help. I have barely used the iStudio since my ipad2 had issues acknowledging it due to a few bad pins in the jack on the ipad being bent(the pins responsible conveniently with syncing with outboard peripherals) knew it wasn't my istudio since both of the ipod touches my wife owns works with it. I got a new ipad Air 2 coming in the mail in a few days with the Graphite 25(using a 30pin to lightening adaptor) ...just in time for my vacation hahaha. Might finally get some word done first time in nearly 2 years.

Good to know Korakios, i was wanting an all in one interface for my ipad...since i don't use a PC/MAC based DAW and like with the ipad, wanting something rather mobile and took up little space in my small apartmemt with the already limited space i have for my music gear set up. Being a central hun for everything, i found the istudio to be the route ro take...though wish it allowed more flexibility like having a dedicated USB midi hub(which would have greatly increased the choices of midi controllers without having to buy a seperate camera conmection kit or an expensive USB hub) and 24bit audio architecture, especially now since the newer ipads and many apps incorporated it.

  • Mine's connected to the IStudio only with the 5-pin MIDI cable. It's powered with the USB-to-wall plug I got from an old iPhone charger cord. Glitchless.
