A switchable OS from OS X to iOS pro touch or so would be amazing. I think they still have to be seperated but they still could work on one and the same device and could at least interact in many ways!
But the main reason is of course why selling just one device if you need 2.
One of the major things why i never could go iPad only..... i still need a computer for backup, moving large files, no proper upload for many things and some other things.
They def. could change that finally if they want......
Since i have no Logic and Alchemy 2 on windows....no chance that i will get ever there anytime soon.
I agree! That's what I was trying to inject into the conversation above. Another thing is the iOS developers. They usually have a couple programmers (or one) working on an app. They've come up with some great ideas. Also some of them take the time to post on our forum and start a dialogue with the users.
So like @Cinebient said it's not a VS - it's worth investing in both.
Omnisphere with their Orb controller for iPad. Best of both worlds, I can't imagine a better all around synth, especially now that you can load your own samples too.
Yep... this thing is insane.... for me on the second place
I support using both platforms and integrating them as best you can.
I've actually come to decide that using a laptop takes far less effort, and so is much more efficient for doing just about anything that doesn't require a direct analog input.
It took me 2 years of heavy iPad usage to realize that constantly having to move my hand all around the surface to operate it isn't an advantage for many uses, and lack of file management outside of specialized apps makes it very difficult to put together a pleasing workflow.
I also believe having some sort of hardware interface such as a Push is also a very important thing to have for truly completing the picture.
I even made a lot tracks lately with just the integrated macbook keyboard because my back hurts to much and i was too lazy to use my samson graphite 49 as midi input. So i agree that a notebook is a really good way for an all in one workstation. I just automate the velocity by random f.e. to add that human touch then. Of course it´s nicer to use a proper midi keyboard or one of the fantastic iOS apps like ThumbJam as midi controller but it´s def. possible without any additional hardware to create any kind of tracks and add expression too
I'm trying to break that Command-K habit!
But there isn't anything simpler is there.
Often very true!
Would be handy if Auria Pro (or other coming iOS DAW's) had midi FX options like Logic f.e. The included midi FX are easy to use but very awesome to work with.
I guess for me the ios killer was workflow and of course waiting for the next gen to run a capable daw.
I get the whole 'run both' scenario but then I have 2 setups to think about and sync, save etc.
Since moving to surface pro 3 and ableton, It feels like l have leapt forward in time and my iPad now does what I envisioned it would in a few more generations.
The power is more than adequate and it does everything I need it to.
One success story I guess.
So neither desktop nor iPad is my 2 peneth.
I am a musician- apps on the iPad turn it into a tactile instrument- the pc never got that direct instrument playing vibe with midi controllers and the mouse-
