  • "Hey Siri, give us a hint"

"Can you get a hint? No. You may, however, get a what what."

  • The only thing she gave me was a hint of, LIME, and that there's an announcement on September 9th.

  • Siri says she is like "an open book", when asked about September 9th.

  • @lala I like that a whole lot.

    I've been kicking everybody's butt all day long. ;) ^^ :)

  • As long as I get a Mini w/ an A8X and 2 GB RAM, Siri can go straight to hell.

  • I used to get excited about Apple events and watch them live all the way through, but to be honest, listening to 15 minutes of an iPhones details that are totally irrelevant to my usage, long overdrawn speeches about iMacs , kind of bores the hell out of me

I know newer devices will get faster and faster, that's all I need to know ...

  • All I want to know is what their update will break and when will older models get reduced in price.maybe I'll move from a 4s to a 5s...

  • I don't think Apple would willingly break older devices. iPads look so similar that even iPad 1 lying around the house is an advertisement for them. The problem is that the variety in hardware is starting to multiply and hard to keep track of, especially with millions of apps out there.

Seems like they are moving away from old Steve's idea of simplicity and adding different screen sizes a la Android. It's great for the consumer in terms of variety but not so great in terms of keeping bugs under control.

This wasn't directed at your comment @mrufino1, just musing generically.

  • Finally apple came to their senses and stopped treading the iPad as just the iPhone with a bigger screen. :)

  • I know iOS 9 scares me...will be the first major update since buying my first iPad. I might eventually have to buy a computer to be safe.

  • @supadom , no, I don't think they willingly break older devices, although my 4s runs like absolute garbage on ios8 and I've heard ios9 will help in terms of older devices? Let's hope because the phone is terrible right now. Luckily I only "upgraded" to iOS8 a few weeks ago. Ios8 has been flawless on my iPad Air though.

What I meant though is that for musicians, it seems there is a "don't upgrade to the new OS" warning for each of the last few OS upgrades, and audiobus breaks, or graphics glitch, or file access gets screwed up (or restricted?), so on and so forth...

We'll see, I'll probably hold off a bit on iPad but the iPhone is going to 9 the second it comes out. I'm trying to avoid buying (or now in the USA at least you can barely buy iPhones anymore, they all get leased) a new iPhone as long as possible.
