  • I have updated the Air 3 and so far I see no difference in functioning.

As for the three dots, some people like them, others don't. I would prefer to remove them, apple could add an option to turn them on/off.

I generally like the app to be full screen, without a battery indicator, time, etc - I can then fully lose myself in the music.

I’m saying this using the latest beta... it’s annoying... in the AppStore version it’s almost impossible to use those transport buttons nearby

Ok, I've already learned to live with the 3 dots as they make general multi-tasking a lot smoother.

Same here. It’s not exactly the most irritating thing in the world and I have seen developers say they will make adjustments for it, so I guess things can only improve.

  • Been solid for me so far.

  • I totally forgot about the 3 dots until I used Koala the other day. 😆

  • Since 15 I can’t swipe up to quit apps on my Pro 9.7.
    This update doesn’t solve it.

You need to swipe up from outside, and pause in the middle of the screen to reach the App Switcher. If you don't pause, you just get the Home screen. Does that not work for you? Have you maybe enabled some Accessibility feature that affects this?

I get the App-Switcher, but swiping up doesn’t do anything.
It’s a bug, it works fine after restarting my iPad but after a day or so it stops working.
Perhaps caused by an app I opened.
Selecting an app from the Switcher also doesn’t work, once I tap an app in the Switcher it disappears to the left.
The 3 dots at the top (multitasking) also stop working when this bugs hits in.

    Accessibility setting are default.

Strange. Certainly all working normally for me, both force-quitting and multitasking, both of which I use intensively on my iPad 6. However, I do restart (power off, power on) twice a week, without fail. That helps keep things fresh.

The behavior you describe, tapping in the App Switcher and disappearing to the left almost sounds like there could be another screen there. Very odd.

  • @uncledave On your iPad 6, are you able to take a screenshot by performing a 'Left Corner Swipe'?
(Settings>General>Gestures, enable 'Allow Finger to Swipe From Corner'.)

On my iPad 6, I tried several dozens times but couldn't get it to take a screenshot, but a 'Right Corner Swipe' for Quick Note works fine.

"Works for me...". Used it to take this:

You do need to enable the Corner Gestures, as well as select the function.

So far I'm liking 15. Feels snappier than 14 on my iPad 6th Gen and iPad Pro 2nd Gen.

    • The 3-dot multi-tasking button up top is a problem in Drambo, but overall, multitasking is much easier than 14. How-tos: Split View and Slide over.
    • Files app is much improved - progress bar and sorting by Groups is nice (folders and files are no longer clumped together). How-to: Files App.
    • Quick Notes is handy. How-to: Quick Notes.
    • Highlighting text now shows a little magnified area above your finger, so your finger no longer blocks the text that you're attempting to copy. How-to: Select & Edit Text.
    • App Library is unnecessary for me; Home Screen is fine, imo. How-to: App Library & Home Screen app organization.
    • App Privacy Report - nice addition; about damn time. How-to: App Privacy Report.
    • Hide your IP from trackers in Safari is nice. How-to: Hide your IP in Safari.
    • Mail Privacy Protection is helpful against spammers and debt collectors. How-to: Mail Privacy Protection.
    • Translate is okay. How-to: iPhone and iPad.
    • Magnifier App is quicker than messing with the camera app. How-to: Magnifier and another.

    Edit:
I thought that the App Library wouldn't be useful, but discovered that the additional search in that screen will search for installed apps even if we have 'Show App in Search' disabled in Settings>Siri & Search.

    • On the Home Screen, swipe left for the App Library screen, and search there by an app's name, or 'synth', 'granular', 'fx', 'delay', etc.

Sometimes on my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 on iPadOS 15.2, the Power and Home buttons stop working. Never experienced this before in the 2 years that I've had it.

  • Holy crap very helpful Ocelot, thnx!

the battery runs out earlier than usual
privacy is now a distant memory of past ages😖😖😖😖😖 how you buy and use your cell phone or ipad is already implicit in losing privacy

    👍 crullerz and MisplacedDevelopment.

🤔 Sometimes on my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 on iPadOS 15.2, the Power and Home buttons stop working. Even the virtual Home button (Accessibility>Touch>AssistiveTouch) that I've used for years doesn't work.

Never experienced this before in the 2 years that I've had it. (Makes me think that I should check its headphone jack...)

Hmmm, it's as if something is in-focus, stuck, highlighted, or 'mid-process' on the screen, but I cannot see it.

^ The issue I posted above about the Power and Home buttons working intermittently hasn't reappeared in 5 days. Hopefully it was only OS housekeeping after the big update from 14.8.1.

15.2 is a little faster than 14. Benchmarks and my old AB/AUM stress tests show a tiny increase in performance (but can't load 1x more Model D). Safari tabs don't need to reload as often.

(Never had the disappearing AU issue, or audio engine stop working on any OS or iPad so far.)

This is with 15.2 on a 2017 iPad Pro and 2018 iPad 6 - 15.2 isn't like iOS 9 or 12 on some older models, ime.

Edit Dec 31st - I noticed that the battery in the 2017 Pro 10.5 takes ~twice as long to charge. Still using the stock Apple charger. Battery seems to last a bit longer. No idea what changed.

How annoyed is everyone by the three dots multitasking icon? can apps hide it or is it always there now?

Moderately. It certainly gets in the way.

It only appears on apps that support Split View multitasking (e.g. Audiobus), not on those that only support Slide Over (e.g. AUM). So apps can hide it by specifying how they work.
