IOS music highlight of 2014
Self explanatory.
Mine was Korg Gadget allowing external audio samples to be used in the two sampling Gadgets. Big leap forward for an amazing iOS music making environment.
Be interested to hear other people's highlight of the year.

As a guitar player, the release of Bias for iPad and the follow on Bias desktop were the highlights for me.
I was pretty stoked for @thesoundtestroom to get his own website!
My app of the year is Tonestack. So many good effects and I love Yonacs midi implementations.
Big fan of the super smooth iOS 8 update as well.
Tough one. I like Tonestack, Egoist, Bias, and Flux:FX, but I don't know that I could pick one out that lineup.

Gadget and Sector are my standouts.
Like the movie business we (I?) tend to have a short memory, or add extra weight to the pluses of recent releases, but I'm very happy to have finally got Samplr. Pleased also with Module, especially Salzburg within Gadget. Now if I can just make sense of Sector...

Obviously the great new music apps of the year but I particually enjoyed the extra consideration and open communication from the developers. Shoutout to Michael and his Loopy ME project, Adam and the Fiddlewaxes, and Patrick of Secret Base Design to name a few. I really hope this becomes an ever growing staple in our community!
Gadget, of course, but Mitosynth too, and hooray for Animoog for iPhone becoming a usable app again!
Mitosynth x1000. Wooji Juice already has me committed to buying their next 10 apps sight unseen after how impressive this synth is. The same for Elastic Drums and O-G-SUS. They just get it right when it comes to creating music apps that harness the possibilities of iOS and take it to the next level.
Take notes, Korg. Gadget is good but leaves me flat.
Im biased as can be, but
iVCS3 adds some very nice flavors to iOS music that weren't available before.

ad 480, finally an algorithmic reverb that sounds great

Audiobus 2, MiMix, Egoist, FLUX:FX, IR reverb apps, midiSequencer, TC-Data, Kymatica, Holderness, ApeSoft, Secret Base Design, Yonac, Rej Poirier, Alexander Zolotov, Fiddlewax, Korg, and iPad Air 2 so I can run them all. Haq Attaq, The Sound Test Room, and Tim Webb videos were all excellent. The engagement of developers here and elsewhere under trying circumstances is greatly appreciated. Older apps which have been updated so I can use them on the newer hardware and iOS 8. The support provided by users of this forum.
Discovering Audiobus, after updating the iOS on my abandoned iPad, completely changed the way I make music and opened a whole new bunch of sonic opportunity. And a big thanks to the Soundtestroom for making me aware of it all.
Highlights: Samplr, Thor, Turnado, Egoist, Gadget, Elastic Drums and Yellofier Electrify.
O.k. i have to add my vote here:
For me also Mitosynth since it still inspires me a lot. Recording sizzle of the sauce from my goose breast, playing percussions with the bones. Took that into Logic, some processing with B2 reverb and other goodies etc., back to Mitosynth and a wonderul christmas patch(es) is ready
Then i vote for Flux:FX as best start for an app. More developers should learn how to please with a lot videos and demos after start their app. Not much do this in the iOS world.

Nothing in the league of Animoog, Samplr, Impaktor or Gadget this year AFAIC.
Egoist stands out though. Possibly Flux but I still haven't tried it.
The Plexi 50W amp model in Bias.
+1 on MiMix, especially since the multi channel output feature. And Audiobus 2 with multiple lanes. These I load up every time.
Tonestack into FluxFx is incredible, priceless sounds!
Gadget has my vote with honourable mentions for midiSequencer, DrumPerfect, Mitosynth, and Fiddlewax Pro.

Bias and ToneStack have had the biggest impact on my workflow this year. I'll also add that I've started fiddling with DrumPefect and am excited about the possibilities. I was so looking forward to the IPad Air 2 and plan on owning one in about a month, but I'm worried about the underwhelming performance reports I've read here and elsewhere. Hoping I don't have to trade it in for an Air 1.

I'm also thinking about a new iPad some time next year. Surely the Air 2 is the way to go rather than Air 1, or am I missing something?
So good we already take it for granted: Audiobus 2 with state saving and multi-routing.
My holiday spare time was spent jamming on my acoustic guitar, looping layers of different guitar sounds each with their own fx and amp model, and running the final Loopy output thru a convolution reverb... all live. at 256 sample latency. on a year-old 7.9" tablet.
Less than a year ago this seemed like a "one day I'll be able to..." dream for iOS. This stuff is absolutely nuts. 2014 was a great year.
