NanoStudio 2 and Geoshred
In the last few days I have rediscovered nanostudio and love it again. But I have one question: Is there a way to record geoshred or ifretless and play on the virtual strings? The only way to record my playing was via nanostudio's built-in keyboard.

No if it is loaded as plugin inside NANOSTUDIO .. you need to load it as standalone APP and route it's MIDI out into Nanostudio MINI INPUT ..
In theory (didn't tried it but it should work)
Now, when you set active channel in NS with Geoshred instance (by default active channel in natustudio listens on all incoming MIDI data), plaing on SECOND geoshred instance should trigger play Geoshred instance inside nanostidio and if you hit record in NS, notes should be recorded into sequencer
But it's all theoretic concept, didn't tried it cause i don't have geoshred
Thank you very much. That does indeed work. Unfortunately, when I play two strings in geoshred controller, only one string is recorded in nanostudio. What could be the reason for this?
I tried replicating here. But I couldn't even get midi from Geoshred to Nanostudio
In geoshred controller you have to go to midi, chose midi out. When midi out is blue, you are ready to go
Probably something to do with NS2 restricting the MIDI channel (I seem to recall it does not pass through channel data) and the different GeoShred strings being assigned to different MIDI channels.
hm that is strange, no idea.. my guess it's some setting (or even bug) on Geoshred side - don't see reason for NS to not record all incoming midi notes.. but who knows ...
In nanostudio it seems to be that geoshred is handled monophonic. Even when I painted two or three notes as a chord in the clipeditor, only a single note was played back.
Thanks mate
I just noticed that while watching a geoshred video on the subject
Was about to edit my post but you went faster
Are you playing geoshred itself inside Nano? Or other patch? Some patches are monophonic
I am playing geoshred outside Nano. And the patch I'm playing is polyphonic. When I turn up the volume of the controller, I can hear the chord I'm playing. When I turn down the controller volume, only one monophonic note ist played inside Nano.
Weird... But setting up and recording midi in iOS seems always crazy
Maybe some kind of control messages got recorded?
if you can send screenshots or something can shine some light
It sounds like it's working for you? Is that right?
Actually, I was trying in BM3... As soon as I have a work pause here (in a few minutes), i'll try again in NS2
