So, i don’t understand how “complete my bundle” works…. WOW Filterbox is on sale, by the by

It woll only deduct the money you actually paid. Since you likely bought at least one of the other apps on discount, this means it will only deduct the discounted prices, leaving the overall price higher than the price of the last app…

Does anybody have their other app oscilab and knows if it can save/export MIDI?

No such button found yet, you only can share project and mixdown

It does have midi out though, yes?

  • Some of these mentioned but here’s is the photo.

The IAP for all the amps in ToneStack is $30USD (about $20USD). Anyone have experience with the guitar synth (Roxyn)?

Roxsyn is cool but it’s different. It takes any audio signal and uses it to play the synth. Lots of presets. You can definitely use a guitar, but any audio will play it. It’s good but I will admit I don’t use it that often. I think it’s more due to the amount of apps I have, then the actual app. Maybe someone else could chime in.

    Thanks!

I’m pretty sure though that roxsyn is in fact not a synth but rather a clever pitch shifter/filter/envelope follower etc. that leaves way more of the expressiveness intact over e.g. MIDIGuitar 2 + Synth of your choice. On the one hand that’s a good thing, on the other hand it often still leaves the results sound kind of guitar-ish, it leaves for example all the pitch fluctuations intact, i feel like it should be seen as an experimental guitar pedal rather than pinning it down on the word „synth“. It definitely is very cool though and can be used for much more than just guitar. I can only recommend getting it, it’s fun!

I was using the term synth a little loosely, but I didn’t know that. Thanks for explaining.

Audio Spleeter is $10 off down to $14.99

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/audio-spleeter/id1594893048

    Is spleeter free online?

Kind of? It is available for free (or for $1 donation) as a Max for Live device here:
    https://azuki.bandcamp.com/merch/max-for-live-stem-splitter-spleeter

    And here is decent tutorial:

I always thought ‘stems’ was a completely useless producer jargon used to make them seem more important than they are. Just say ‘tracks.’ They are just the individual wav file recordings that make up a song for gods sake.

    Yeah, li’l pet peeve there

They aren't exactly the same, though. Stems should sound pretty much the same as the final mix when played together with all faders at zero. They usually include volume automation, effects, etc, and many times each stem will be a group of tracks bounced together in stereo (drums, guitars, keys,...).

True. I guess you could say Stems are the finished tracks.

Then what’s the term for a raw, uneffected, unprocessed track, ie a perfectly clean direct guitar in track that will eventually be processed?

DI, as in „recording a DI“, as in „direct input“ aka DI track?

I’m a definite fan of aphelian. It’s really cool in standalone but the Au (which is a slightly condensed version) is great for leads and bass lines. Throw chords at it, do some randomizing/tweaking and out comes your lead, or whatnot.

Does anybody have their other app oscilab and knows if it can save/export MIDI?

Oscilab has core midi out 4 instrument channels and a drum. So you have to use it in Standalone but then use virtual midi, to connect to whatever inside an app like AUM.

I’m not sure about midi save or midi export. After a quick look I didn’t see it. It does save and export audio, with mixdown.

It can send and receive midi clock as well.

  • Here’s a screen shot of 1 of the 4 instruments. Each instrument channel can send core/virtual midi on its own channel.

In the past, Fred has offered discounts in early December and sometimes in February.

You might be waiting a long time on Blue Mangoo. No record of any sales and I recall the developer saying here they don’t do sales because they do a great deal of research before releasing their apps and price then fairly.

Of course having said that, both developers will immediately place their entire catalogs on 75% discount! 🤓

  • Quick Question… I’ve wanted GrooveRider for awhile, but never pulled the trigger. I’m curious about 2 main things, 1. How is it on cpu/DSP, at least compared to others? And how steep is the learning curve?

I’ve always Something like Bilbao from Korg Gadget in my AUM setup, I’m thinking this is will fit the bill nicely. Just worried about cpu usage, and a complicated learning curve.

I own non of the 3 apps, but if I buy each separately - in total it would come to $11 LESS than if I'd buy the bundle.

It's super CPU efficient, I still run it on an iPad Mini 2 (8 years old) without problems.
The learning curve is quite steep or in other words, you learn a lot in very little little time because it has a fairly straightforward groovebox concept which is very similar to the current Electribe hardware boxes from KORG.
It's a highly capable standalone (or even AUv3) groovebox that goes far beyond bilbao, like parameter locks, wavetable synthesis including Serum WT file import or sample slicing that allows you to have 16 x 16 sample slices in one project.

You can also use it as an AUv3 MIDI sequencer with 16 individual MIDI track outputs.

It's also one of the most robust MIDI clock receivers, making it a perfect companion for hardware groove boxes.

I think I can safely say that I have all of the popular sequencer/groovebox type apps and a few unpopular ones too. I like this one the most by a long way. It rewards exploration, tweaking and noodling more than any other.

It looks like there are four Australian female voices. Some of them cost extra. Click the links to hear samples.

For reference, here’s a sample of the Salli voice (American female) that I like best.

Wow, I’m convinced. I knew it was way more then Bilbao, since it has a synth and plays wavetables, etc… I’m gonna grab it. I think I always half thought, I already have poison do I need that synth engine again, but it’s so much more. That’s just one of many cool features. I need a groove box in my workflow, Thank you.

Every developer has a different approach, some remove bundles when they do sales, some use a bundle as a sale, some do sales on individual apps with additional savings on the bundle like FabFilter. I think sometimes developers don’t adjust the bundle price appropriately for whatever reason when doing a sale. I don’t know much about the development side but I think it’s an entirely separate action, so maybe they just left it as is, dropped app prices, and left bundle price where it was.

  • Merry Xmas to me just completed the Mr Pavlov Collection with the purchase of GrooveRider thanks again @rs2000

I was looking at the description and it can’t read DRM content (explicitly mentions Kindle books). You can use the ios screen reader in a pinch though it doesn’t sound so great.
