  • TB Flowtones is an awesome synth. Brought some serious power.

4Pockets SideBand Remix completely changed the game for me from a mixing and mastering perspective.

Spatializer also brought about a huge improvement in the quality of my mixes.

And last but certainly not least, Beatly Pro made my top app of the year. It’s fun and I’m able to make some great sounding stuff with it.

  • Oh forgot about spatializer, yah that is a good one.

  • Beatly Pro - the pocket ghost producer

Who got a refund for this because it doesn’t produce pocket ghosts? 👻

  • ID700
    Timeless 3
    Volcano 3
    Animoog Z
    Looperator
    DrumComputer
    Other Desert Cities
    Wotja Pro 21
    Chordjam
    Pure Piano

Happy New Year @Stuntman_mike. I think you’ll get your wish. I’d like string and horn ensembles myself.

Happy New Year @LinearLineman! I concur, ensembles would be great and I’m sure they’re around the corner. I look forward to new music from you and cool, new apps that make us excited… Much success to you in 2022 🤩

I do think a decent percentage of them are worth finishing too, but I’m intimidated by the mastering process, both literally and figuratively. Plus I enjoy the front half (creation) a lot more then the back Half (fine tuning).

    This so describes me... :)

  • In no particular order:

    Rymdigare
    Other Desert Cities
    Bleass Granulizer
    Chow Matrix
    Lunar Lander
    Spirangle (love this one!)

A better question: how many finished pieces of music did you create this year?

Other than a quick Radiohead cover for a comp, a three track EP with my band (still waiting on final mix and master, ofc) and a few "joke songs" I sent to my friends... zero!

However, I'm relatively new to making music all by myself (chronic band guy since 1996 or so) and I'm confident I've found my "solo identity" and a lot of it has to do with (along with my Korg opsix, if I may cheat and list hardware):

    • Hammerhead
    • Koala Samurai
    • (the idea of) Loopy Pro*

*I have and so far really like LP, but catching wind of its impending release earlier this year led me to frequently lurk on these forums which led to me signing up and trying to absorb as much as possible from all of you lovely folks. I've never had so much fun fumbling around with a new app/device/etc.

  • It was a pretty good year for new apps, so hard to pick one out.

Loopy Pro has got to be up there for most people, and I’d imagine Synthmaster 2 as well.

  • Gotta give a shout to @azul3D_Apps, too. He has put A LOT of work into Piano Motifs, giving us many new features this past year. Thanks, Fernando!

    Yea spriangle is sweet.

  • I want synthmaster 2 so bad, but I’m concerned about pushing the cpu too hard… plus the app size, but that’s an easy fix. How rough is it on cpu? Let’s say relative to other apps in your arsenal…

I was surprised it didn’t find its way in any top of 2021 lists, at least that I saw…

Brilliant app, getting better with each release.

Thanks guys for mentioning! I'm really happy you're having fun with Beatly!

That's actually really good idea for sort of a background visualization/animation :) A ghosts being generated from the main play button? Cringe and overkill? Maybe. A way to avoid refunds? Definitely! Will think about it!
