Tyrannosaur
For the first time I slowed the bpm down on a track. From 105 to 88. I’m pretty satisfied with this one.
SWAM Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Tenor Trombone, and PurePiano. Ravenscroft275, Magellan2, NSK2, Jazz Drummer.
Strangely, Magellan 2 made this track happen. It’s the EP like sound.

I would be quite satisfied, too. I enjoyed listening to this very much!
Really enjoyable collection of instruments here. I love the bass and drum synchrony.
And that EP sound is magical mixed with PP too... I'd never have guessed the synth you used: which goes to show that there are a lot of discoveries yet to be made in the apps we already own.
The tenor sax holds up the solo duties with some surprising runs and improvised melodic ideas.
Thanks for the confirmation @Paulieworld. My emotions were a bit ragged when I recorded the piano parts for this and Archaeopteryx. It was a bad and irritable mood… proving to me, once again, that “feelings” don’t drive creativity…. “feeling” does. Often the two don’t coincide.
Thanks @McD. Magellan is a beautiful instrument with a rather unique GUI, I think. I wonder if @Spidericemidas has considered a sound pack for this one. Overall, IMO, the existing presets don’t live up to its potential. Especially the pads and arps.
I quantized this one to 1/8 hoping it would give me the basis for a solid rhythm section. I’m also getting better with using the xy pad on JazzDrummer…. Better control of the dynamics. And a bit more finesse with the Cubasis mod wheel for vibrato on the sax. However, I see that the same vibrato on the sax may be more intense when I substitute the trumpet on the midi track.. That’s why there’s a bit more vibrato on the first trumpet lines than I anticipated.
Love your Jazz pieces, they’re so good! Jazz is the one genre I don’t actually have any in my collection 😳 I love it but I don’t really know where to start looking for the best commercial examples. Any recommendations greatly appreciated!
Magellan could be one to look into. I’ve tinkered a bit, so I might go back to it at some point.
What @McD said, very effective drum and bass here; works really well as a fundament for the sax, which was great to listen to throughout.
Thx @Spidericemidas. I guess you have plenty of recommendations now! So much to listen to, so little time!
Thanks @JudasZimmerman. I’ve been working on the rhythm section. JazzDrummer is now critical for me.
I was wondering for this song if it would have been cool with the bass turned way up, like the big bird just stomping around with the sax telling the story.
@JudasZimmerman, it’s an interesting idea. I still have some heavy dinosaurs to go. Maybe a bass stomper is in order. 😉
This tyrannosaur sounds kind of laid back. Uh oh, fade out …
@Stochastically, agreed, it was after a good feed and the King was struttin’. I tried to make up for it with Megalodon😱😉🎶🙏
They must have had some downtime occasionally. I just noticed this new discovery from Scientific American:

@Stochastically, lol, I had to roll my eyes at this “simplified” taxonomy…

I don't know why they just don’t turn it all over to Ancestry.com.
Anyway, it’s a comfort to know I will not be the only ugly bastard to die in obscurity, 😉😎🙏
