Two things I forgot about ElasticDrums: it comes from the Mouse on Mars ambit and many of the presets show that lineage. It’s not at all limited to that sound (there are 17 separate synth engines available), just something to keep in mind.
The app is IAA but recently got multi outs for each of the six sequencer lanes which goes a long way towards mitigating that.
Yo, Elastic Drums is crazy fun for harsher sounds. the fx and jam screens combined with the gritty drum synthesis are a goddessend for IDM and im sure for industrial style as well. Its not AU but i tend to use it by itself to craft full jams, which can then be exported to other apps. ED slaps so hard. GR16 i own but havent gotten past the point where everything i make in it sounds basic and cheesy.

Drambo!
I recently got it. I have GR-16 and love it but Drambo is GR x10 on steroids. I love grooveboxes and also had a Digitakt for a while and Drambo is even better than that. There is a definite learning curve especially if you have no modular experience like me. I had to read the manual and watch Ben Richards entire series of tutorials on YouTube to get from frustrated to fun and I'll probably have to watch the tutorials again but now I'm having fun.

Completely forgot SeekBeats btw. 8 individual synth voices (2 OSC + noise, 4 envelopes) plus a modular effects section.
SeekBeats is the best. I asked a long time ago for midi learn like his DJDJ app. AU would be so good for it. But no response. So sad because it’s a beast. But I still generate loops with it. Luckily it can export them easily.
I’ve been loving the Merz and Mod synthesis modules. Here’s how the manual describes it:

What is a “chaotic fractal noise generator”? I wish I knew more about how this module works so I could recreate something similar (ie. in PureData/MaxMSP/Drambo/etc.) and push this sound even further. The Elastic Drums interface is too constraining. Albeit its simplicity is great for quickly churning out new patterns.
I adore gr-16. If it had higher note resolution it would be my favorite music environment on iOS. I like my unquantized synth solos.
Until then Nanostudio 2 with koala sampler as an AUV3 reigns as supreme emperor for noisy heavy industrial stuff on iOS. Especially with Nanostudio's effects bus and audio routing leads to some interesting experimental stuff with compression, reverb, and distortion.

Future drummer, or any LUMbeat app, is like having an expert master drummer right next to you who is also your lifelong best friend and improvisation partner, and all you need to do is look at em a certain way and they know exactly how you want em to play it, even though you yourself are total shit on a drum kit
Not sure if this helps but you can record unquantised in gr-16. It’s an option in the main settings.
I have not been impressed by Future Drummer's sounds (and I like many LUMBeat drummers). The other options you mentioned, sound better though they are more work since coming up with beats will be your responsibility.

I think it is the best Drum Machine, not just on iOS. Auv3 will send it thru the roof.
So it's kinda complicated in how it works. It's not a truly polyphonic unquantized mode. It still only allows 1 event per step, with each step set as a 16th note. Unquantized in gr-16 means you can offset the event slightly, but you can't, for example, play 4 notes in succession like an arp on a single step. You can play a chord, but all the notes will play simultaneously on that step, not in succession with accurate micro timing. This makes the timing for fast solos inaccurate. Try playing a very fast solo or melody and see it not record properly, even unquantized.
The workaround is to make the pattern double speed or 1/32 base note, which increases resolution but functionally halves the length of the pattern. It works, but it's a workaround rooted in hardware limitations, like with the digitakt or electribe, or older hardware sequencers where you had to double the bpm.
Whereas Nanostudio, like many daws, is true unquantized, you can play a functionally unlimited number of notes in a 1/16th note time slot, offset by an extremely high resolution when quantization is off. It'll record as played.
It's one of those "it was so close to being perfect" moments. I still love it for what it is though, and gr-16 is definitely on my desert island synths list.
