At 150$, Behringer will sell thousand and thousand of this thing. I will be one of them.
I have a stack of the original BCR2000's (it's my favourite MIDI controller by far) and I'm pretty certain I'll be buying a stack of this modern version too.
The originals were built like tanks, hoping Behringer hasn't forgotten that particular critical aspect of the design is what made the BCR2000 such a cult item.
There is a prototype now.

Another year maybe?
Covid war chip shortages
Who knows
They actually have the same number of encoders, but the layout is different - BCR2000 had buttons between the first and second row of encoders
Any news on this? I'm GASing harder now that I use Drambo, imagine the posibilities! LOL

“…just completed the firmware…”
Based on previous announcements I would guess that means there’s a slim chance we will see it before the end of the decade.
Yup, another couple of years before it's actually released
Dunno.
I map a faderfox pc12 as a Euclidean drum controller with 6 knobs per track ( you still need a few knobs mapped elswhere ) Like an ec4.
and this is just so you know what the controller will be mapped to and not worry about making labels. So just accepting the controller is for some live drum control.
and with the ec4.
Its best if you know your synths. So a mapping will always be the same and thats even with led names etc.
Otherwise you might just map a filter but even then Drambo makes it so controllers arnt essential.
It will be worth buying for Drambo though.
that doesn't have infinite knobs, which can be mapped to pages and pages of parameters
Also should be 7 times cheaper than the pc12 if released as planned, I doubt it
In the end I bought the intech one. I woulda liked a screen but I didn't want to wait a lifetime. It's a really good cheap alternative to the faderfox or the midifighter twister
that looks nice!
Yeah the fox 12 isnt encoders.
The price is silly now.
£650 for a controller.
Which I dont find use for.
Apart from having Euclidean drums available and there not be a space between ipads.
It is nice it has 4 banks of 16 as standard but you can program it however you like. The encoders have a multicoloured led and act as push buttons as well. Only thing is it's fairly fragile. I mean it's not but I wouldn't gig with it. It's great for home though.
That en16 looks great, smaller footprint than the behringer too. How easy is it to program the cc numbers and push actions etc?
Allow me to recommend the MidiFighter Twister. Same basic form factor, but not at all fragile and from what I can tell offers more features. I use it a lot as a parameter controller.
Thank you for that review! I’ve been looking at these for a while to have some knobs mapped to mixing station pro for my m32c (I have an x-touch and x-touch extender already controlling it). A grid of continuous controllers would be perfect to map to the channel eq, comp, etc. Different use case than you are discussing, but thank you for the review on it because there’s not much out there on this controller.
If you’re saying it’s somewhat fragile and not to gig with it, then that rules it out for this use. I’ve been looking at MIDI fighter twister, the fox one, and the bcr2000 also. Bcr2000 is too big for what I need, as would be this new one.
I use console 1 and console 1 fader in my studio and I wish I could map the console 1 channel strip for mixing station on an iPad but I can’t get it to send MIDI that way. On the computer you can make it a generic controller, but apparently not for iPad. I know it’s not class compliant, so that may be the reason.
The rock solid audio controllers look great for what I’m trying to do as well but I don’t think they’d work because they don’t use midi from what I understand, they have a mode that makes it appear to the computer as a mouse, or something like that.
I think the twister is going to wind up being what I go with eventually.
This is the setup I have now, the first is when I just bring the extender, the second is both.
was this abandoned?
It’s in Behringer limbo, together with the VCS-3.

Make of it what you want. To me it doesn't look like it's abandoned.
