This is a great tuner!. Thanks!.
Great for fixing fretboard tuning. My cgb has a screw for a bridge and needs constant fixing.
Not tried it out yet but the intonation feature caught my eye. Would prefer a android version tbh
Great name for a plugin
Hah lol now you mention it😎😆
That went right over my head
Is it, though?
Dope. Thanks only 4.6mb.
Here we go… but +1 @ExAsperis99
I mean, haha, I find sexual assault as funny as the next guy. I just don't know that I'd name my app after it, you know what I mean?
Interesting flex
But in 2022, there's no excuse for not knowing what words or phrases mean
Perhaps we could get a mod-edit here? It would be a shame for an app to not get exposure because of such an early derail. If not, I'll just delete my posts.
Interesting idea. Does this work for bass as well? I've been putting off getting my setup dialed in and maybe downloading a free app will rescue me from myself.
Go easy. Not everyone is up on regional slang and phrases.
My point was that in 2022 we have 24/7 access to the largest online information resources. If someone is about to imply that a complete stranger finds sexual assault funny (Moreover, that a developer would think it a good idea to name an app after sexual assault), then perhaps they should just check to make sure they understand the definition beforehand.
A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.
The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.
Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his journey.
The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.
Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”
The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”
Did you look up "Pitch Slap"?
I think there other uses of those 2 words (if not more). One is a musical TV show and the other is a marketing sales pitch thing.
You may be making an incorrect assumption about the developer's intentions.
Indeed! Words and phrases often have multiple meanings. And you might be correct that I've mistaken the developer's intentions. But if anything that further demonstrates a need to be sure (or close to) before flinging accusations.
Also, I know what a “bitch slap” is, and I’m also aware of it’s likely origins — the slap administered to someone who’s not worthy of a fully clenched fist; you can guess what kind of person falls in that category.
And that in its current usage it has morphed from violent slang to metaphoric usage on reddit boards to be adopted when a commenter who nurses a grudge from a misinterpreted comment for 24 to 48 hours finally gets his revenge. Really, I had no idea you were so upset about the sexual assault “joke” — too tangential, I realize now.
My point is that it’s a stupid name for an app; it sounds bro-y and sexist. And if you’re so helpless that you can’t intonate your guitar with just a regular tuner, I guess you deserve Pitch Slap the App.
Hi All, I'm sorry and disappointed to see that the name of my app has caused upset, that certainly wasn't the intention and I can categorically state that neither I nor anyone on the team finds sexual assault remotely funny. We operate out of Bournemouth in the south of England so perhaps there are different connotations / sensitivities in other parts of the world.
To answer a question above the app works fine with bass, in fact most of the in house testing was done on my own Stingray. Just make sure the tuning selected reflects the range of your bass e.g. B0 or E1 for the lowest string as we use a software high pass filter to maximise accuracy. If you've got a four string bass you can just select a preset bass tuning.
The idea behind the intonation function is that all guitars will have varying responses across the whole fretboard even when 'perfectly' intonated. If you measure all of the frets you can make a more informed decision when making adjustments. For example I know of more than one Luthier who always intonate a bit flat to compensate for heavy fretting pressure... if you use your normal fretting pressure when you record the intonation then you can just go off that instead of using a rule of thumb.
Hope that helps. If anyone wants to contact me directly there's an email address on the contact page of the website https://pitchslap.rocks.
