Anyone using AUM/iOS, etc. with a Squarp Hermod (Eurorack)? What sequencers are you using? Workflow?
Being that the Hermod can act as a USB host, anyone using one in conjunction with AUM/iOS, etc.? What are your thoughts. If using both, do they gel well?
What sequencers are you using?
If none of the above, are you using IOS and modular and how are you doing so? At the moment, I'm using an iPad Air 4th Gen via Motu M4 hooked up to a CV.OCD which then feeds 1v/oct / gate to my modular rig. I'm using a few sequencers, but haven't gelled with anything in particular - LK, Riffer, Atom 2, and Fugue Machine. I suppose so far I like Fugue Machine the best. LK next.

I use Polyend Poly2 plus iPad or VCV to sequence my Eurorack. Any sequencer works well with it, and could with hermod as well.
Below, I'm using OODA to sequence my rack.

@TheGhostCat - Do you have anything else to say about the OXI? Looks compelling I must say. I'd almost prefer this to the KeyStep Pro based on paper.
I am using the Westlicht Performer. It’s a great and versatile sequencer. Maybe the best out there.

But recently i m using it as a 8channel MIDI-CV interface and then using Drambo or other sequencers. Haven’t found the perfect iOS sequencer yet.
I am also using a Doepfer Dark Link as a Midi CV Interface. It also works with USB, which is super if you only want to use the IPad as a sequencer and don’t have/need a proper soundcard.
I have this arriving but I expect the track limits to be too limiting for me. They repeat that it's up to 32 tracks but only if you like to use the multitrack sequencer for all 4 sequencers - I'd want to use the mono/poly/other sequencers on 1-3 of them I imagine. Do you "bake" Oxi patterns to something on the iPad to free up sequencing space? Or augment it with other sequencers on iPad? I cannot bake to audio too early in my process.
I’ve plenty to say about the OXI, and am happy to answer any specifics, but thought that link would be a good place to start. I mentioned it because it fits the bill of bridging the connectivity gap between ipad and modular, but honestly this thing is a Swiss Army knife.. It has a rechargeable internal battery for portability, is built like a tank and has an incredibly dedicated and responsive developer that has worked in several community requests since its launch, it doubles as a monome grid, has io for midi/cv/gate/usbc/ble midi, random/stochastic/Euclidean/xoxo style sequencing options…. the list goes on and on…
I bought oxi with intentions of sequencing all my hardware (and do regularly use it this way) but have found infinite added value using it as a dedicated midi controller/sequencer for my ipad (or as a grid for my Norns).

Ah you’re in for a treat! I had similar apprehensions before my oxi arrived but i very rarely run into scenarios where I’m left wanting more than the oxi can handle…. However, I’ve been routing the oxi through Atom2 via AUM lately, this setup definitely makes “baking” oxi patterns especially simple. Surely there are a ton of different ways/apps that will offer the same results.
Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking to give LK + Launchpad Mini (or finding a way to use the OXI or Offgrid as a control surface for LK) a try. But annoyed to introduce a second arranger/midi clip launcher when OXI already has full-stack capability. Maybe the eventual answer is a second OXI lol
I suppose I'll also keep acceptable built-in sequencers in place, instead of using the OXI to sequence my TR-6S for instance, to preserve tracks. I can give tracks to the TR-6S if I want some off-grid timing. Likewise with Koala Sampler - might as well use its sequencer instead of consume precious OXI channels. I'm not sure if this is simpler than using LK for everything on iPad.
I can see myself baking patterns to LK to move on to the next piece of instrumentation or sequencer mode, but I still can't tell what I'd like to keep dedicated to the OXI as "live" tracks. I like constraints but the OXI constraints only seem acceptable to me to go all-in on if I had two of them
That’s a fair assessment. … i can see where going all in the box with oxi for ALL SEQUENCING and sequence storage could be a can of worms down the road for elaborate setups… i can also see where a second oxi would put this thought to rest lol.

Drambo + midi to CV module like fh-2 seems like the ultimate sequencer to me now.
I am using several external instruments (TR-6S, Meeblip Geode, Skulpt, SH-01a) and will want a couple AUv3 instruments (besides many effects) and drum kits. Which is where I quickly run out of capacity with OXI unless I introduce complicated multi-out solutions, or several different sequencer devices/AUv3 sequencers.
This will be an all battery-powered setup together with Birdkids Offgrid for drum pads and keys and clip/loop launching, Studiologic Mixface for AUM, TX-6 for the external gear and as a more stable/battery friendly midi bluetooth host, and off-white OB-4. I'll share the results of my setup in coming weeks
The more I look at the OXI I think it's the way to go in terms of controlling my 208HP rack. Controlling something like LK or Atom is a super bonus. I'm still getting my feet wet with both. I'd also get something like the MAFD for my DFAM and then I can sequence that as well via OXI. This would be instead of putting something inside the rack. This way I can devote it towards a module like Morphagene.
The PER|FORMER is bit bigger than what I'm looking for in terms of HP. I'm sure it's a decent contender though.
