I'm moved to tears, not just by the fact you've made me feel like a forum voyeur or worse a peeping tom but also what would of took me a year, you managed in a hour, my god man are you using ethernet, would of took me an hour just to upload the vid. It was beautiful in a strange and twisted way and no I don't work in a abattoir, hiding in alleys, watching the nightshift return home from work, stroking my velvet lined bag of cutting and chopping implements, I left that all behind after I got into music.

Seriously though I'm impressed, I enjoy your beathawks, to feature as a reprobate in one, that's special, I'm still smiling, I go to bed happy and will wrestle with this kick drum tomorrow, feeling more inspired, thank you, I needed the nudge.

  • The new versions are in the App Store but as I feared these require iOS 8.1 so... I guess I have something to look forward to when /if I ever update my devices.

  • Others updated OK, but the Acoustic version is giving me an 'The item you tried to buy is no longer available' error message. Grrr. Anyone else successfully updated this pack?

Upgraded Country and Blues (iPad Air IOS 8.1) and everything works fine; also in Audiobus!
EDIT: oh no, after connecting my audio-interface to the iPad both apps crash in Audiobus (can't even send an errorreport)... Sorry.

They announced package deals and discounts for today's release has anyone found them yet? I just went to the Facebook page and they said they would announce them there.

Sessionband rock no longer available? When I try to update it tells me that what I am trying to buy is no longer available! If I did not buy it( I did of course). Why would I even have an update option!

It's just not ready for update, most likely (Probably was there, then pulled for some reason; hence the error).

It's not like it's discontinued. After all, there's a bunch of them, so seeing something like that isn't surprising.

  • I did get the blues update to work and opened in the audiobus input. Damn the time stretch was vastly improved, they were not kidding about that. I love these apps mainly for the drums and having this much tempo control is going to be very nice.

    error

Well i'm rather happy about this. I paid for all of them.
Now I might actually use one LOL.

  • Which is your favorite jazz app?

  • Very impressed with the improvements to the chord editing also ( the touch response was vastly improved!

  • But the Audiobus-integration sucks (error, error) and isn't working (grrrr.). Only @Tritonman managed to get it working with AB; how?

  • Harro, what app are you trying in audiobus?

  • Sessionband rock its working with audiobus in my iPad air 2, its not working on my iPhone at all unless i use it with headphones

  • I can not even get rock to update or I would try that in audiobus also. It keeps saying it is no longer available for me and others.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear I was able to install it and get it to play through Flying Haggis via Audiobus on an Air2.

  • Session Band for Ipad still shows available for 2.99. And all the IAP are lower priced. What gives?

Good to know, and thank you. I will take my own previous advice and take a breather, have some lunch (short ribs, since you ask), and then approach the matter afresh.

@Tritonman, when you say 'Very impressed with the improvements to the chord editing also' are you referring to anything new? I found it sufficiently tricky with my fat or clumsy fingers previously that I did at times lose enthusiasm etc.

  • @Tritonman: I have Blues and Country. Both upgraded well and work standalone, but as input in AB they give 'error' and don't load. (iPad Air IOS 8.1.3 and AB 2.1.9.)

  • Yes they are much easier to manipulate now so when I touch For an edit it always responds very nicely now. Not sure about how fat my fingers are but it definately did not respond well prior to the latest update.

  • Harro, I am on AB 2.1.9/. And ios8.1.2 , . I don't have country but the blues works in Audiobus although I have not tried it with my Griffin interface yet. I would guess it might have to do with the coding inside of sessionband having to do with interfacing though seeing how it does work without the interface. Definately has bugs but at least usable again.

  • This just in from their Facebook page,

For those asking about Acoustic 2 - because of the delays with all other apps, this is now scheduled for beginning of March. And those asking about Apps on Sale (!!) - watch out over next few days for offers and updates.

  • Haven't tested ab compatibility yet, but they have all updated to version 2 now, like the increased bpm range, even though you get strange artefacts when slowed all the way down, I like the effect on certain sounds on others its a bit too obvious. Was surprised with the blues app, some of the lower bpm styles, still sounded really good sped all the way up, same with some of the jazz ones too, going to go through them and see which work better, I'm glad these apps weren't abandoned in favour of newer apps.

  • Great Rock just finished downloading and it is working great in AB even recording into Cubasis ! Just perfect to . Really digging just how responsive the new versions are. The improved time stretching of tempo is just great, all I can say. Well worth the wait!

  • I picked up most of these when they were on sale for a buck and was looking forward to the new versions.
But, I'm still on 7.1.2. The updates aren't listed on my App Store update page. I assume if and when I upgrade to 8.xx, the updates will appear and be available to download? Anyone know? Thanks.

The 8.x-only apps are beginning to make an iOS upgrade tempting.

  • Just downloading Jazz vol 2 - which is the only one I own (i purchased a while ago in a sale).

    Looks like it's been updated.

Could anyone tell me what type of stuff is on Jazz volume 1 and 3? Is it significantly different to vol 3?

They are currently £6.99 so quite expensive to take a punt on.

I'm just looking to generate a few short phrases to add some colour to drum and bass / beats based tracks... or create source material for some slicing / mangling.

I guess the blues one might be interesting too.

  • I'm also temped by the piano one which is slightly cheaper (£4.49). Probably best to wait and see if they go on sale though (as per the above).

Anyone care to comment on the quality / usefulness of the piano one?
