Meteor MultiTrack or Auria..??
What's UR Fav DAW??
Comments
Multitrackstudio by Bremmers Audio Design. Lightweight, Great workflow, awesome dev who listens to the users and updatea the app frequently, great features. Period.
To date Cubasis, but with the inclusion of midi in the forthcoming Auria Pro, that will be mighty tempting!
I use Multitrack DAW to track mics and simple setups frequently. The tracks usually get imported into Auria for editing. Multitrack DAW is so solid and quick to get up and running It's my go to recorder, but Auria is the real powerhouse.
Cubasis is my current DAW of choice. I have Auria too, and when it gets the MIDI, I'll re-evaluate and decide again. I also have Meteor, and while it is very complete and feature-filled, implementation and overall user experience is poor. I also have Beatmaker 2 and FLStudio Mobile. Don't bother with FLStudio Mobile--it's a hack. Beatmaker 2 has reached its end of life (wait for Beatmaker 3).
So, between Meteor and Auria, it's a no brainer: Auria all the way. :-)
Auria.
Collecting/recording (Midi)ideas in Cubasis and finish them in Auria. Most likely this will change with Auria Pro.I was waiting too long for the one and only solution. It's SO close now...
What @Audiojunkie said, except change the first word to Beatmaker2.
I have to mix in a little Gadget-Magic aswell... :-)
Waiting for Auria Pro...
Auria fanboi here
why do you think beatmaker2 is reaching EOL?
MultitrackStudio and BM2. I have Auria and await the update, but it may mean a new iPad to run it.
BM2 is very handy..
I find it useful but unused at this point. Folks/strokes/horses/courses...
Word. MTS spanks the competition right now. Import a midi file AND it correctly sets the notes with all of the correct time signature and tempo changes... can any other iOS app do that?
MTS for me too, although without multitrack recording from Audiobus it might be superseded by Loopy Masterpiece this year... (Not that LM is supposed to do this either.)
Depends on what I'm trying to do. My usual pref is Auria, but if I want to go lightweight, it would be MT DAW or even MiMix. I also use MTS and Cubasis depending on what I'm after. I had Meteor, but the workflow was off-putting to me.
Big thanX
Well Well..an allonboardspecialfxdawswisstool..
@telecode101 Because INTUA have all but ceased development on Beatmaker2 and are almost completely focused on their next generation app which will be Beatmaker3. Beatmaker2 is still for sale, and is a valid app, but it is unrealistic to expect too much more development to take place on it. Also, Beatmaker3 will be a new, separate purchase, so unless a person is willing to take Beatmaker2 as it is, it's better in the long run to wait until the new version is released. :-)
I'm on an iPad 3 with issues.
If multitrack audio capture is key, I use MTD because it's solid.
If mixing/editing is key, Auria because, Auria.
If MIDI+Audio, BM2.
I await Auria Pro, NS2 and BM3.
Bm2 is great been a good price for a while. Killer features that doesn't get mentioned often - the iphone version is fantastic esp on 6 plus. Dropbox integration is second to none, you can save whole projects to and from DB
+1 for BM2 when it comes to audio multitracking. Waiting for bm3/masterpiece/Auria. I'll probably get them all when out. Unless they're IOS 8 only.
Thanks. Great now I will be waiting for Auria Pro and Beatmaker3 to see which one to commit to.
Auria Pro ...
Looks very much as would be worth the wait. Is there somewhere news ??
here you can find all news about auria pro: http://auriaapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=12809
Cubasis and Auria. Auria Pro when it's out although the recent addition of the stereo width IAP plugin to Cubasis is a very useful. I asked Rim about adding something similar to Auria Pro and he said it wouldn't happen right away. So, at least in the short term Cubasis still and Auria Pro when it comes around.
MTDAW on an iPhone though.
I'm staying out of this thread, nobody likes the DAW I use all the time.
@NoiseHorse On the back of my old Toyota 4Runner, which even now sits under two or three feet of snow in Maine, there are stickers. I have never had stickers on a car before or since, but on this car there are stickers. Odd things from places I've been. They accumulated over the years as the car got older, to the point where we joke that it's the stickers that are holding the car and all its New England rust together.
Most of them are silly. I wouldn't put them on my wife's posh blue Audi here in Austin (not would they be allowed to be put), but I am fond of them all the same. In the Summer, if I can get the thing to work, I will drive up the peninsula to our nearest town and park amongst the tourists and the boat people. And someone (there's always someone) will wander by as I come back from my coffee and ask, looking at one sticker there wedged amongst all the others, "GB? Is it still great then?" and I will smile as disarmingly as possible and just nod.
I'm a long way away from GB now, but it's where I started out, and, smile as I might, I don't care for anyone who looks down at the old thing....
..I just sold my Honda, that I bought in Round Rock, got 300,000 miles on it, my next door neighbors fixed it up a little, and they're driving the #&%@! out of it...
(No stickers, but it has those big rust spots you see on old Hondas)
And yes, the IOS DAW I'm using is a version of the Windows DAW I first had in 1995..
MTS is the only iOS DAW to allow score editing, unlimited tempo and key signature changes. Unfortunately it's not a match for Auria when it comes to audio editing. So it's a combination of both for me.
Lots of options and stops along the way, dictated by project needs, but Auria is always the final destination where the magic happens.
