Just downloading Jazz vol 2 - which is the only one I own (i purchased a while ago in a sale).

    Looks like it's been updated.

Could anyone tell me what type of stuff is on Jazz volume 1 and 3? Is it significantly different to vol 3?

They are currently £6.99 so quite expensive to take a punt on.

I'm just looking to generate a few short phrases to add some colour to drum and bass / beats based tracks... or create source material for some slicing / mangling.

I guess the blues one might be interesting too.

For me, jazz 1 is a more laid back type of affair hasn't got the diversity of styles 2 & 3 has, jazz 3 I didn't like at first but has grown on me, especially love the pianos, very expressive, they are probably all worth having for the genres you mentioned if you've got the space. Blues one for me is hit and miss, love the organs and drums, some of the guitar playing is good to, but starts to sound a bit rock and rolly, even though they're closely related I wanted more downtempo soulful blues.

  • All sessionband apps now half price (in the UK store at least).

  • Thanks @mister_rz think I'll pick up another jazz one.

mister_rz Herewith, forgive the roughness. Beathawk, done in 38 mins and into Auria for one take make-up-the-words vocal and then Premiere for a video thrown together from stuff in my coal scuttle.I

Feel a fine mixture of alive and knackered.

That video was AWESOME! Great work. The batman clip made me laugh.

@mrufino1 Thanks Boss. It was a challenge to myself as a result of some chatter with @mister_rz. Was feeling the Lassitudes of Wan and so decided to see what I could do from scratch in 60 minutes: Tune (basic Beathawk) words (dull) melody (none) and throwing a handful of clips from my library into Premiere. Good exercise. Like circuit training :)

  • Guys is there a benefit in buying the original app going for .99 cents? I have the latest acoustic one but needed to know before i throw away any cash. Thanks

  • @Musikman4Christ Session Band app original hasn't been updated in a few years so it doesn't have Audiobus or IAA support.

  • Thanks Paulinko!
I guess if someone wants it for just jamming it's ok at that price.

I bought it just now purely on the basis that it's 79pence for 600mb of sound samples.

If I get one instrument sample/lick out of it that goes in a track then I'll consider it money not wasted.

It also appears to have audiocopy or email or iTune sharing as options to make up for not having audiobus.

I'll try and have a play later tonight and let you know what I think.

  • Which one did you get? I was thinking the exact same thing. For .99 cents and get the whole package for an extra 2.99 might mot be such a bad idea.
