Yamaha AN2015

What a great sounding app! It needs more love though. IAA, Audiobus? I do not use it much because of these issues, but I want to! What brought this to mind? Well, this morning when I opened it up for use it asked me to take a survey but unfortunately the survey had absolutely nothing to do with the app. It seems they are considering other moves into ios perhaps. They only wanted to know age, sex and primary instrument. On the plus side , there does indeed appear to be life in the Yamaha IOS world after all!

    It feels like a couple of these Yamaha apps are just a good UI designer away from getting their cab on the rank.

    I must agree with you guys; Yamaha Synth Book (with included AN2015 SoftSynth) is fuckin' amazing!
    I miss first of all virtual MIDI (it has support for external MIDI)...
    I really feeling privileged to have so much great software for my iPad & Mac!

    On the iPhone it's where it really stands out... the sound quality is higher than other synths. On the iPad, of course, the competition 's tougher - Thor, Z3ta+, Gadget...

    Yep, get the drum machine going and start playing around is much fun. Yamaha makes the funnest things in the world. I had a yamaha electronic drum set that was awesome. When i was a kid, i used to hurdle through the air on yz 250 dirtbike. I still dream about to this day.

    Yup. Yamaha iOS apps are textbook examples of the importance of caring about UI design, like by actual designers with an eye for aesthetics and not just programmers slapping some blocks of color around on top and calling it a day.

    I couldn't agree more! A little UX research wouldn't hurt either. Make sure what you're developing is what users actually want.

    I don't think it's iOS. It's not like the DX7 was particularly user friendly!
