  • It does have its appeal, but it's not really for me.

My countdown for the give-aways has started, missed the price guesstimate by $10 LOL...
...It would have been smarter from them to do the demo with IAP unlock like they did on the desktop.

Wasn't too impressed by the desktop version so no purchase from me...

  • Not a bad price for an intro. It’s just a bit basic for me, I really wish it had a separate envelope for the filter but it’s a good synth

  • Decent sounding and good looking little synth. I will be using this like I use Poison 202, quick and dependable to load up in a template. Very usable randomizer as well.

  • And despite my initial misgivings, I bought it. Can't wait to see what I can do with it after my shift. :)

  • Been gassing for the real one for a while. This will do a lot to keep the gas at bay, especially with a Keystep 37.

  • I was listening to the presets and I was not very inspired by them.

Yeah, I feel like you'd have to be a bit of a masochist to use iPhone for music-making tbh! There are maybe a few apps with UIs suitable for that, but the majority, I think not, and doing that kind of close work on a small screen is really begging for eye problems I reckon

According to my statistics very few people actually use phones for music (at least in terms of download numbers). Especially noteworthy considering there are so much more iphones out there than ipads. But the vast majority of downloads is coming from iPads. B)

Yes, not surprising, and makes me understand why many devs decide not to bother offering universal apps - seems it makes more sense to focus on the ipad instead of always needing to make the compromises that would be needed to give an ok experience on a tiny screen!

Korg Gadget scales pretty nicely on the larger iPhones

  • Don’t need but why am I buying it? ADDICTED TO AUV3

They sell a separate one for desktop. $99 regular price, but $49 right now.

Absolutely FANTASTIC synth.. beautifully lofi yet firm .. Does great pads, arpeggios, basses …

Love what turning down “battery” slider to 20% and less does with sound.

    Also FM modulation dounds great.

Together with Hilda and BS-1 top 3 synth of year. Extremely inspirative synth.

Short quick loop - pad, bass and aroeggio BS-1

It’s no good. That will be Auv2 on desktop. If you have a logic project on iPad, the settings won’t transfer to Mac due to auv3 vs auv2 compatibility issue. It needs to be auv3 on mac as well.

  • Was hoping for intro price at $14.99 but I can manage this. Think I’m gonna give it a shot.

  • $19.99 I’m sure it’s worth it, but can’t swing it for awhile.

You do showcase it better then the previous video I posted. 👍

getting duplicate piano roll events in LP4i. possibly the plug-in is emitting MIDI out along with logic’s keyboard. will test in Cubasis

edit: yep same behavior in cubasis duplicate MIDI events for every note. they should turn off MIDI passthrough

  • Got it. It sounds very good to my ears. Definitely will be getting a lot of use from me. I dig the simplicity of it.

  • Spoke to Nino today - he's going to give them a nudge to allow custom presets to be imported.

I already told them days ago that should be added. They didn't say they would add it and it didn't make it into the latest beta so I wouldn't hold my breath for it. But yes, I'm encouraging all devs to add batch import and export. Some of the desktop devs in particular may not realise the importance of that due to not being as familiar with the crapness of the ios files system. Frankly I wish apple had spent the last few years working on that rather than logic ipad lol

  • No velocity sensitivity is a bit of a bitch. Maybe the original synth is like that, but I always like a synth to be velocity sensitive

But it is, you can enable it with the little V icon

Ah no, it does - that's the V button at the top!

Awww yeah! BA-1 is mindblowing! It reminds me of why I love Gadget 2 so much - the powerful simplicity of many of the synths contained within. And BA-1 has a great sound to it!

  • Yeah, sounds fantastic though I think calling it mind blowing might be a bit of a stretch for me. Its certainly very very nice.

I will have a walkthrough up soon btw, focused on the ios version and giving a frank review of the strengths and weaknesses (there are definitely a few of each) of the app.

    Agreed!

I couldn’t help myself, bought this right away, as if I need another synth. Eh, I’ve spent 20 bucks on worse things.
