Andrew Huang - Make Your Own Rules Book

This looks rather excellent actually.

Interested to hear his insights. I've been following Huang since 2017/2018 give or take. A little less than 25 quid. 🤷‍♂️ I'll probably pre-order it soon.

  • I noticed this guy on YouTube around that same time period when I started getting into iOS music cuz had was one of the few YouTube channels with some iOS tutorials. Haven’t seen any of his stuff for a few years but Recently saw some videos he’s doing and it looks like he’s doing well and incorporates lots of different stuff into his music. Good refresher for songwriting type stuff, he seems to really embody that sense of childlike wonder with music. It’s easy to lose that spirit over time and it’s nice to see that positivity and enthusiasm

Exactly what keeps me subscribed despite occasional clickbaity thumbnails. His sense of childlike wonder inspires me to dig deep into my own projects!

Agreed. His personality shines. And the Sonic Boom series he does with Rob is so so good.

That was so epic! :) Andrew Huang is one of my favourite music youtubers if that wasn't obvious from above. I wish Flip Sampler wasn't so buggy (had a few stuck notes when rendering last I tried it), but neither am I asking for a refund either as it has loads of potential to grow as an app. :)

I'd just want to record something at Abbey Road. Not one of my more conventional tracks, but something really far out there and experimental! Destructive tape editing and other techniques the greats of the past have used! 😃

  • If you haven't, check out Huang's "4 producers - 1 sample" series.

Occasionally, the 'sample' bit gets replaced by a synth or a plugin suite but the principle's the same.

I haven’t had a ton of issues with it but the dev has a lot of pedigree (Elasric Drums, Mollilooper) and it seems to at least be in active development. It’s a great app overall though :) I see Andrew still using it in his videos occasionally which is nice to see. Would be weird if he just never brought it up lol.

Besides him, Hainbach, annd Jakob Haq are there any other music YouTubers that have dipped their feet into the app development pool?

    We need @thesoundtestroom and @Gavinski next 👀
