I'm trying to go down this path too. Drums are easier and bass too to do in iPad world.

I’m not sure that they are necessary easier to create on iPad. I can DI a bass guitar into an interface and record the audio very quickly. A conventional drum kit would take a lot of setup time, but I have an electronic kit that I can record MIDI from which it is way easier to create fills and heavily syncopated rhythms.

I think creating both on an iPad is good for creating things like industrial metal or just experimenting with different sounds and rhythms.

  • Wow @GeoTony that was really good! Excellent phrasing and finger work.

Have you seen Cubasis new HALion instruments? You maybe able to find your electric guitar in the lot. They have articulation such as slide and palm muting.
